If you don't spend the money frequently, the interest makes your money grow more quickly (click on the dollar sign on the dock on the bottom of the screen in the game to see the interest graph). Lots of people let the money build up before buying anything with it, which causes them to have a lot more money. In my main family, which I've had going since launch time, I've got over $2 million
