Are you sure it's a child? Because (if I'm thinking of the same thing) I've heard someone say "Yay" in the past, and as far as I know it's been someone on the scale in the bathroom. Good results, I guess!

Hey, by the way, txmom, I've been wondering... what does "DD" stand for in the beginning of your posts?

Well, what I do know is that when the children scream they are up to something! wink

Probably playing in the dirt, drawing on the walls and stuff like that. I mean, doing one of those things that would lead you to raise your "red hand". smile

So every time I hear the yay I go and look who's being naughty. smile

I'm with Krystal on this one. I think the "yay" is probably a teen or adult happy with their result on the scale. I love it. smile

But I'm also with you and Moonlyght on the quick check on the kids whenever I hear giggling. I have no idea why drawing on the wall annoys me... but it does. I'm gonna have to go with my daughter who said, "I just fixed that wall!" as she scolded a child. (That, of course, caused me to fall out in laughter because I could remember saying similar things to her soooo many many times when she was younger.) Anyway, I'll use that as my excuse for scolding the children who do it. smile But the dirt, I let them have at it. The giggling is nice to hear and my grandfather used to say that a child has to eat a pound of dirt before they are four years old or they just won't grow right! wink

I think the yay sound IS when they're doing something bad...or playing with the gophers.

The only 2 things I punish for are writing on the wall and banging dishes. The noise from the dishes drives me crazy!
