ok its a silly question, but my first family has over a million dollars. i know in PT and FT the max price is 9999. they have gone way over that! i could have parents with $0 dollar careers (not possible just an example) and they could live off interest for the next gazillion generations! is there a max amount of money they can earn? or will they have like 20 million? im not complaining, just asking! i love the fact i can buy whatever i want without worrying they will run out of food!!!!

While it does not appear that there is a limit on how much money our peeps can earn. I have noticed that once you hit the 10 million dollar mark, the family bank account screen gets confluky with the bar graph. Although it does not seem to affect the game the bar graph doesn't represent correctly the growth of money. I have attached two screen shots of my first family. They currently have over 91 million dollars and once they reach 100 million, I will probably just pause the game and wait for VV4. I keep wishing for an "event" that will wipe out the family funds so, there is more of a challenge. I have five families running and the other four all have at least 46 million dollars so much of the fun is gone from playing and despite all the beautiful mod's that you use to switch up the houses, its pretty boring at this point. The first screen shot is of family 1 once they hit 20 million and the 2nd screenshot is the same family at their current balance. thehappymrs

Oh, that goes when you have nothing to spend money on! I myself am on my 17th generation and have all the things I could get from the game, so the money just comes, never goes. I just got a printscreen for you to see how much money I have (unfortunately just in the game! )

The best thing you can do to increase the amount of money is to let it accumulate interest. The money earns 10% interest per day, so if you spend only what you need to spend on food and medicine, you'll soon have a lot more money available. It takes a little while to build up at first, but soon you'll be earning a lot of interest. For example, once you have a $5000 balance, if you limit your spending to necessities, you'll have at least $5500 the next day, $6050 the day after that, then $6655, then $7320, and so on.

Now I found out why sometimes I used to hear a coin sound and the money increased all of a sudden. Thanks Barbara!

I've sometimes noticed this, and have been meaning to mention it. I'm seeing something very similar. I'm not sure, but the game sometimes seems to 'save up' the money, then add it in bulk. For instance, if I collect a duplicate common collectible, no $5 gets added, but if I then pick up an uncommon one, the total of $20 does get added. It's not always as simple as that, as I never really know what the peeps are earning for each payment, but the bank account usually looks OK, more or less.

As posted by Lady CFI, you have to wait some time so you can build up to that much money. But exactly how long do you have to wait and how long do you have to work? My highest money was a little more than $500, by skipping some hours,in about 20-30 or 40 minutes, I forget. The mother was I think an accountant or a wine critic, and the father worked in the office. (I forget witch job)But the mother was busy having children, so she didn't work much. With my situation, about how long will that take? Anyway, I'm glad you brought up this topic, esther1981, and thanks Lady CFI.

As I stated earlier, there is a very useful topic regarding money: I can't get enough money...I wait a few generations before going for the more expensive things in the house as once you have earned a good amount of money, you can click on the "$" next to their amount of money and see how much they'll be earning in the next while. Check how much money you'll earn using the "$" sign button next to your money total. Each generation lasts about a week long so it can take a long time to start generating a lot of money! Also, if your family really needs medication make sure you always have enough for at least that.

I made a rule for myself not to buy an upgrade unless I can afford it two times. For example, a $15,000 upgrade would mean I have $30,000 that way it doesn't bring me back to where I started. After that, I would end up with $15,000 that would just start stacking up until it gets to where I am today with the 7 figure amount.

Lol it really is a good system esther! I kept getting so tempted to buy the upgrades though, you have to have the determination of a statue. I'm not sure if statues are typically associated with determination, but you get it! My peeps reached their first million this week and although I'm happy for them, I do want to use it on something nice and shiny >_<

I tried to get it on the game and couldn't find it.

Thanks Heather!!! (every time I'm here I'm sure I have to keep clicking around the game - there are so many nice things that are sort of hidden! *laughs*)
Oh, and btw, I paid attention to what arnie said and it happened in my game as well - I get the collectibles and no money is added - but if I close and open the game again the money appears!
And I noticed that now the collectibles are worth more money - is it because I finished the all the collections?

WHAT??!~ First of all, how do you get that screen that shows "family bank account"? I can't find that anywhere. Second, where in the world are all of you getting such fancy upgrades in your houses...new furniture, walls, carpet, etc.??
I have done the 3 upgrades of the kitchen, office and workshop and that is all my game offers me. What am I missing?? I'm on my 8 & 9th generations with nearly $1,000,000. The screenshots of the games above don't even look like my game?
I'm on version 1.00.05

To get the family bank account screen, click on the little green circle to the left of the bank balance. All of those pretty rooms are done with mods, which means modifications. There are 2 threads about this: This one shows the pictures and downloads and the other one has discussions about the mods. You'll find lots of good information there

I have 2 families going. My original family is currently in the 21st generation and have $677,196,480.01. I have noticed recently that when my peeps work and earn money or pick up collectibles and sell them online the money earned doesn't register. I get the sound of money clinking as I should but my money total doesn't change. Also, when I click on the dollar sign to check the interst earned and such, the white box where you find the projected earnings for the next 7 days is totally blank. When I buy groceries the money total decreases. Somtimes when I buy medicine or some of the varied store items my money total doesn't decrease with the purchases. I thought at first that maybe it was a glitch but then wouldn't it affect my other family as well? My 2nd family is currently in the 17th generation and all money earned or spent registers just like it should. Has anyone else noticed this happening?

This does seem to happen to anyone that has a ridiculous amount of money You can read everyone else's thoughts on this issue in the following topic: how much money is too much? SPOILER????
