When the person comes and wants to buy your collectables, is there a way to sell only certain ones, but not all of them? For instance, could I sell the coin or twig collection but not the bugs? I wouldn't mind selling the coins or twigs as those collections are easy to rebuild. But I work too hard at collecting the bugs to give up the few I have found.


Also, when the sell collectables scenario comes up, it would be nice if we could toggle to the collectable screen to review what we have collected before making the decision to sell them or not.

Unfortunately, the event which you are speaking of is an "all or nothing" deal.
