Many others have complained about the same thing - these peeps die too young!

My Yuri was a 62 year old widower, the picture of happiness and health, well fed, normal energy, and had just recently adopted a 3 year old orphan. The game was on, minimized, and when I pulled it up, Yuri was doing the death wave, leaving poor little Bengor to mourn, then fend for himself. I suppose I will have to start a new generation now, as Bengor is too young to survive on his own.

I say if they are sent a young 'un to raise when they are in their "senior years", they should be allowed to live to at least see the kid reach 18, when they would be considered an adult. Especially when the senior citizens seem to be perfectly healthy.

I know we don't have to accept the little orphans, but I just have not had the heart to turn any orphan away.

I imagine there would have been even more complaints if players were forced to play the game with nothing but an elderly couple in the house, with no choice but to wait for them to die of old age at 80-100 years old.

What I wish is that the "next generation" button became available once all the kids went to college, not when a parent died. Then the elders could have been allowed to live much longer, because players would no longer be forced to keep playing unless they wanted to. Both the players who want longer lives for their peeps and the players who get bored once all the kids are gone would have probably been happy with this arrangement.

Perhaps the parent or parents could have remained in the house in a retired state--no longer able to work on a career, but able to do all the other things the 14 to 18 year old children can.
