Strange! I have one family where the oldest child is 16, the mother is 35 and the father is 38. So, this means they were 19 and 22 when this child was born? I don't think so! I don't recall their exact ages when they first married, but I do know that both were in their mid twenties.

On another note, I have noticed that when a new generation is opted, and we have the choice of which child to take over the home after the death of the parents, their ages are out of order, too.

And, while I am thinking of it, why not have an automatic note added to the profile of a deceased parent indicating the age of their demise? I say this because, more often than not, when I check the game in the morning, someone has passed away during the night and as soon as it is opened, you can see them disappear, but there is no way of telling exactly what their age was when they did. Hope this makes sense......

Nope...no adopted kids in this family, thus far.

Because their year is equal to 4 hours of our time, sometimes the ages get a bit strange looking. I've adopted kids that seemed to "catch up" in age to a child I had before they came and vice versa. I've also had a hubby that was a year older than his wife initially, become the same age as her, then revert back. It's the timing.

As far as the additional generations go, once you hit the button, each child is randomized similar to the way they are when you are selecting a new adoptee. This is so that you are not stuck with someone who is only 13 (for example) and unable to cook or work or someone who is nearly out of childbearing age or for whom proposals would be very slow in coming. Other characteristics are randomized as well: desire for children, occupation and level (beginner or novice.)

Yes, we are all hoping that the age at death is added with the next update. wink

Edit: I left out an important part. :P For the first two years of life, while the mother is carrying them in "nursing" mode, the child DOES age faster. They age two years in four hours while the others only age one.

Edit Reason: Left something out
