Once in a while, a family member looks at a "magic fish" in the fish tank. Is is supposed to do something?

I think its simply a reference to Fish Tycoon.

Actually, if you aren't using mods, the Magic Fish is actually in the painting next to the fish tank, and yes, it's a reference to Fish Tycoon

so what's the point in having one?
Oh, and also, does the fact that the fish are 'magic' prove something significant? If so, what?

Oh, and i am not talking about the painting, but i mean the tank itself.

The fish in the tank are not magic. The painting is of a Magic Fish from our other game, Fish Tycoon. The fish in the fish tank are there to be pretty.

no if u try to buy the fish tank it says comes with magic fish.

The fish tank and fish inside, magic or not, are there to look good and as another object that the family can interact with. Although the magic fish in Fish Tycoon have benefits, they don't do anything special in this game besides look pretty as Xay mentioned.

It means the fish inside are the magic fish you can get in the game Fish Tycoon. If you look at the plants, you'll also see some that came from Plant Tycoon. They are important to those games, but in this one they're just there to look nice.

Magic fish are just another breed of fish..it's the same as saying "This tank is full of goldfish"
