If we dont actually see them die, we take the age that they were the last time we saw them and then (2 hours =1 Yr.) we basically estimate how old they might have been. The oldest i have ever seen mine is 71 and she passed about an hour later. (she outlived her husband by 6 years) If i go to bed and mine are 65, come back 8 hours later, I assume they were about 67 when they died. although they actually could have been 69. But they don't actually age 1 year for every two hours. They do go from birth to two years old in only 4 hours, but from that point on they actually age 6 years in 24 hours -- which comes out to about 1 year for every 4 hours. So, if a peep was 71 an hour earlier and then gone an hour later, they still could have been 71 or if they were just about to turn 72 then maybe they did, but sadly, we have no way to tell. I just count the last year I saw unless it was from the evening before and then I figure maybe one or two years older as a "guesstimate."
