I probabley mentioned when I first got here, but if I didn't, I thought I should get this off my chest instead of dealing with it for so long. I downloaded VV2 from LDW.com, but when I opened it, I was able to play for about 7 seconds before it froze, and *pop* Blue screen of death. I lost VV2 yes, but I also LOST MY BELOVED VV1 GAME! I spent twenty dollars, and now I don't have it anymore! I'm really upset. I've put up with that for about 2 years now, but now that I'm here and am familirized with the people, I know it couldn't hurt to ask: Why did VV2 crash my comp, and cost me VV1? I didn't have a virus, I am sure. We fixed the comp, as mentioned beforehand. I just want this question answered, plain and simple... WHY DID VV2 CRASH MY COMPUTER AND COST ME VV1? Sorry for the all caps, hehehe. (If this isn't posted in the right spot, you mods and admins can move it. I'll just go where you moved it. )

I'm sorry that you kept this to yourself all this time. We could easily have helped you get your games back if you had only asked, and you probably wouldn't have lost anything. To be clear, VV2 didn't destroy your computer. Many computer games use video functions that are not used by less graphically-intensive applications (email, browsers, word processing). The BSOD (blue screen of death) is usually caused by an outdated or incorrect driver (see this thread for a recent example of something very similar to what you described). So, when you ran VV2, which uses updated graphics functions, your computer's drivers experienced an error, causing a Windows kernel error. Even if you have such an upsetting event, unless you damaged your hard drive in the process, all of our games are recoverable. Every one of our desktop games can be recovered and replaced by following the procedures in the forums or our Support FAQ, and usually your savegames along with them if you ask for help soon enough. I don't suppose there is anything we can do about it now, but we're still willing to try, if you think it will help.

Alright thanks Barbara. The thing is I bought VV1 from Incredigames.com, and I'm not so sure. I'll try when I get home (I'm at my Grandma's now, for about three more days), thanks for responding.
I probabley should've said something when I first got here in tech Support. Still, it won't hurt to try.
When I go back home I'll read the Support FAQ. I really wouldn't care for my save game files. I only had the GC left, I was gonna restart it anyways.
Thanks again.

I can't seem to find anything in the Support about one game killing the computer and making me lose the other one.
Am I looking in the right spot? I clicked "Technical" in the Support menu.

There isn't anything in the Support FAQ about games "killing" the computer (or each other). My earlier reference to the Support FAQ was to procedures for recovering lost games, which is what you said you wanted. Anything "bad" that happened on your computer was the result of the driver issue and the resulting Windows crash and whatever repair actions were taken, not because of anything that our game did. Our games simply don't have the ability to destroy a computer. If you'd like help getting your games back, I'd be happy to help you with that.

Yeah I need a little help. I'm computer smart, but not smart enough to recover games or back up save files.
If you want to post some instructions/a link to the place in the Support FAQ I'd owe you one.

This information assumes that you bought each of the games directly from us. If you bought any of your games at another game site, you will need to contact that site for replacement. To download and install the free trial of each of the games: Look here for VV1, and here for VV2. If the Windows registry no longer contains the activation information and the games aren't fully activated after you installed them, look here for VV1 and here for VV2. Following those procedures will get both games reinstalled and working on your computer. If you ever want to back up the savegame files, look here for VV2 and here for VV1.

Alright, I guess I'll have to contact the website I got my games from, hehe. And I have a new VV2 BTW, it's a CD though. Thanks Lady! I'll make sure I try to get my VV1 back.
