Each person in the game will have random actions. They can check out their outfits, dust, arrange, straighten, watch TV, etc. I believe the latte is going to be one of those random actions. I haven't found a way to "make it happen.

The kitchen third upgrade picture shows what appears to be an espresso machine on the counter. I'll bet you need to have this upgrade before you have have them make lattes.

even with the upgrade, I cannot seem to get them to make the latte on purpose. I may be doing it wrong but I cannot seem to "make" them make lattes.:?

It is totally random 1 of my families did it i think it was a teenage girl who just out of the blue started making latte's i remember from VV series the happier the villagers where the more things they choose to do and when my families are elated they study in the kitchen make lattes and other random things.

I started a new game and the first day the guy made latte. Glad I happened to catch it.
