I just had an amusing/baffling event. My oldest family member, the 60 yr old father, died (not the amusing part). His 59 yr old wife and adopted 6 yr. old daughter are left at home -- two kids are in college.

After he died, I checked the status for both the wife and daughter. Wife was depressed (makes sense), daughter was 'excited about the new baby'. I was confused, as she is the only child at home.

A couple of emails came in, and I thought perhaps the mom would get a chance to adopt again. Nope, just normal emails. Then the daughter's status changed to 'depressed' and her action was "jealous of the new baby".

She ran in the yard and hid, came in the house and hid. For a few more minutes, she was 'jealous of the new baby'. Eventually she went back to just depressed, like her mom.

Unless this baby is hiding somewhere, this is a weird glitch in the game!

Hi pictishgirl,

I've had that same thing happen several times when a parent died. I think it is a glitch in the game.

Thanks for the reply. Seems like it needs to be fixed in a future release.

I actually had a girl show jealous of the new baby as the parents were trying to make a baby but did not produce one. Hmmmmm!

I've seen it too, but only after a parent dies (so, not like the one person who said their kid was feeling that way when the parents were trying to make another baby).

I assume that it was meant to show up after a new baby but somehow ended up only showing up (well, almost only) after a parent dies instead.

I hope they fix it pictishgirl, as that seems like the worst and most unlikely time that a child to be jealous of baby.

I've had this happen when no parents have died. No chances of having babies...parents always seem to be mad at one another...but the 2 youngest children were jealous or excited about new baby on several occasions. Strange.

It could be a weird form of depression.

In my game, a 17 year old girl was "jealous of the new baby", yet the parents were in their 50's! It's just a glitch in the game, you are right Lewanda.
