I think it would be great if the studying was linked to a progress bar in a similar way to working on your career is ... maybe a grade level or grade point average.

I try to praise them when they are doing homework. Only when i drag them just will do. After that they keep playing sand. Get mad with them

My 3 year old kept trying to cook and setting the oven on fire so I had to discourage her from doing it, lol... Id pick her up and move her somewhere else so she'd forget about cooking for awhile, lol... It was very cute anyway...

I thought studying would make them better suited to a career later on. Now that I know otherwise, I will make them do all the housework instead.

I don't know. I gave them a encyclopedia and they went to study and doing their homework. At 2nd generation all of my sons got high level professions and good salaries. Am I lucky or it is my imagination?

That's exactly what I thought would happen (if they studied more). At the same time, perhaps the studying=success ratio is already in the game, but because of how the game is programmed, it isn't intended to be measured by players.

Just a thought...

The housework that actually means something- ie the smudges, weeds, socks, and wrappers- don't get done without making them. That's what I meant.

Well, I haven't seen any correlation between the kids studying/doing homework and it mattering.
The little kids won't do homework on their own without prompting, but you praise 'em a couple times once they get around 11 or 12, but they'll start doing it all the time. It got to the point with my first slot/generation that they were dropping collectibles to go do homework.

One of my daughter, Oriona just went to College. Will she be back home? I have 2 daughters left aged 17 and 12. Soon they will leave again..sigh..now the parents are lonely..

Once one or both of the parents have died you will be able to choose who in the next generation will inherit the house and contents. If you choose Oriona you'll see her again as an adult, but if you pick one of the other kids you won't see her again, I'm afraid.

I'm pretty sure my kids have done homework on their on without my help.
