Wow that's strange. That's the first I've heard of that. Have you been able to afford any upgrades? Ive been able to afford all number 2 upgrades in one family, but thats because i didnt get them any of the luxury stuff, and they were workaholics. I finally got a kitchen and office upgrade for my second family, the kitchen one I got this morning. I was starting to wonder how people were able to get the 3rd upgrades since they are 15000, and my little familys would take forver to make that in one lifetime, if ever.

My money from one generation has never carried over to the next generation for some reason. I didnt even relize it was supposed to until I saw this thread That *is* curious! How many generations do you have? At what point does the money "disappear?" I think you should pursue this, because that sounds like a glitch in the game. If I had a way to do it, I'd split my family's "inheritance" into equal shares between all the kids so that whatever child got the house would get only a *portion* of the previous generation's earnings and not ALL of it. Would make the game more interesting, IMO.

littlewindbird, your money is suppose to carry over Sweetheart. If your's isn't there's something wrong. I only wish I knew what to tell you to do about it, but this is the first instance I've heard of that happening. Do you have the latest update??? I am running the latest version. the .05 one. and i am 3rd, almost 4th generation on both familys. the first time i noticed it is when i was going from 1st generation, to 2nd, and my 1st generation family had over 4000 before i moved to the second generation. I chose the child that had over 1000 in the bank so that i could upgrade one of the rooms in the house. when the child moving in was 'checking out the house' i noticed then that the money was only what she brought with her, which was around 1000. I figured that was just another way to keep the game going longer. so now before i move on to another generation, i try to spend what the previous generation earned so its not a total loss.

I had an idea about what we could do with all that money after buying all the upgrades.
I have been playing for a month and haven't completed all the collections. Some collectibles could be available for sale at a insanely high price ($100,000 etc), so we could buy the ones that are missing.
That could be another goal to look forward too.

I have a rich family & it is pretty dull. I change their outfits a lot! Selling your collectibles, if the offer comes up, also gives you something to do. I agree with others that we need more stuff to spend the money on!

I had that happen before I upgraded to 1.00.05, but my MacBook harddrive died (can you say 5 pound paperweight?!) And am waiting to get it back from Apple. So not sure if it will happen again. Thankfully I backed up everything to time-machine so can hopefully pick up where I left off with families and not have to start over!

Wow, 180,000. I have one family in its 5th generation and they still cannot make it to 10,000. I have to do upgrades one at a time when they are still young couples or they are left with less than 4000. I have another family who is on its 5th gen that makes it to 10,000 and has all the minor upgrades and all three of the 2nd upgrades. the other two families stay somewhere in the middle.

I have all the upgrades for my families, plus the pets and spam filter and all the house repair items, and they are pretty rich, so I just buy lots of outfits for them and buy them doctor consultations when they get sick. I also buy them baby boost if they are unsuccessful at making babies.

I buy anything fun in the Varied items section to burn through my cash, and only buy house upgrades as a "wedding present" at the beginning of each generation. I don't let mu kids be idle, and my adults either.

I have 412907.44 for cash That's chickenfeed to a lot of families. Some of mine have been going (thanks to the release of v.1.00.09) since the game came out and have reached about their 40th generation. They have so many millions that the bank account can't display them all. They earn far more in interest every day than they could ever earn in their lifetime working, but I still make sure that the adults work, and try to get them to master as soon as they can.

My oldest family, since I restarted playing this game, is in their 24th generation. They have $21,096,134,656.01 in the bank. I stopped having my peeps pick up repeat collectibles (they still need 2 bugs to have all 4 collections finished) because they don't get any money for them anymore.

I bought this game only a few months ago so I'm not quite rich yet, but when I had it for the iPod touch, my money was in the millions like Arnie. Pretty cool, cause' you can buy anything and everything!

I don't use it much, actually. I focus more on the families. But money can buy a bit of happiness.

Not much. I'd have stopped with the game if it weren't for the self-imposed rules I've been using. I described the naming system I'm using here: http://www.ldwforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbt...mpos#Post214809I also don't want the husband and wife of each generation to be a face type that I've already had, so trying to avoid that has added another layer of challenge for me. It takes a lot of patience though as you have to reload the saved files over and over again for marriage proposals and births. Right now I have: 13,252,774,854,656.01! Phew. I don't bother to have them work on their careers. Usually they get up to level 3 on their own. I'd rather they not work on their careers at all because the promotion message is annoying. Sometimes I'll give the book you can buy from the store for them to get that first annoying picture out of the way. I always buy the baby boost for new couples, and often just by the diagnostic tool to see exactly what they need instead of having to drag them and figure it out. I think for future VVF games it should take longer to earn money and there shouldn't be such a high interest on it. I'd like to see more regular taxes and the money split among the children would help keep it down. More expensive items to buy would be nice too. Maybe there could be an occasional "identify theft" where a bunch of your money is stolen and you lose more than usual, or have the bank go broke.

I've had a glitch in my game recently, and, for some reason, it's not going away, although I'm happy. I've just started playing LATE last night, and, already, I have one million dollars. So, I've bought all of the upgrades and am just generally focused on developing their family. It's about three years into the marriage and they have two children, so... After Stephen and Portal, soon to be renamed Pimmie, leave for college, I'll start focusing on... Career and such, as, Jasper, the father, has just been demoted for some infringement of work on his part or something and Kimmi, the mother, isn't really doing anything. Although, by that time, by Baby Boost or compliance with my demands, there will be six children in the house, so, who knows? Also, occasionally, like once every hour, I'll waste money that I don't need and buy them some doctors consultation just to make sure everything is A.O.K. Also, usually, when the store restocks, after a few minutes, the only things left in there are the outfits. Because I have more money than I know what to do with, I like to just spend it wherever. And, hey, maybe some of the things that I do change will hold on over to the next generation, if the glitch does not.

Nope. It just... I don't know. I looked down and it said 1000000.00. I waited for it to go away, but, it never did.

i just buy tons of food, and change their clothes a lot, buy all of the extras, like cologne, movies, etc. Too bad there is not a dentist, because they eat a LOT of candy.

My little sister has Cheat Engine installed for one of her other games. Maybe that twitched or something? I have no idea how to use it, but, I guess it would make sense?

So, should I have her completely uninstall it from the computer? Or just make sure that she's not setting it for my game?

Once my computer was updating some software while the game was running and I suddenly got a ton of money. That didn't seem fair, so I started the game over.
I do wish the money was divided equally among all the children. It would make the game more interesting and a bit more challenging. And take away the interest on the money. Nobody gets that high a rate in real life !!
Also, why no upgrades for the bathroom, the laundry room, and living room?

Also, why no upgrades for the bathroom, the laundry room, and living room? I reckon that there should pershaps be a sliding scale for the interest. At the beginning 10% per day is fine, but it should be reduced to almost nothing as the game goes on. At the start, the family might have, say, $500, and the $50 interest is useful. After several generations they might have $5,000,000 and so "earn" interest of $500,000, which is far more than any family can get through working. There are of course no whole-room upgrades for the bathroom, the laundry room, and living room, but there are individual items that can be bought, like the scales and heated towel rail, the treadmill, the flat-screen TV, etc. In addition there are lots of user-created mods that can be used.
