The mother carries the infant until it is two years old, which takes approximately 4 hours of real life time. The child lives at home until it is approximately 19 years old, which takes approximately 38 hours of real life time. The exception is if there is a child under the age of 19 when you choose to begin your second generation. If that happens, the child will immediately become "of age" and will be an adult capable of inheriting the house for the second generation if you choose.

Actually, BayouBlonde, if you write down the ages of your peeps at a particular time and then check their ages 24 hours later, you'll find they have only aged by 6 years. So, for them to age from 2 years to 19 years takes 68 real time hours.
They do age from birth to 2 in only 4 real time hours but after that it take 4 hours to gain one year in age.
Thank you Simsane hun. I almost stopped myself before posting that because I knew it didn't look right, but couldn't find my notes on this windows user. I'll blame the fever and my blondeness! xP

Oh, are you sick? Hugs to you and a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup then. Come on, eat, eat up, so you can go lay down and get some rest! There you go, all tucked in with your favorite music playing and the shades drawn. Now get some rest.
Yeah. I've been sick for a couple of days now. But at least I've had more game time than usual because of it. Thanks for the soup! Mmmmmm *snuggles into warm blanket*
I usually get all my families that are eligible "with child" before I shut down for the night, or if I'll be away from the game for a few hrs. That way when I come back, the babies have turned into toddlers.
