It seems whenever I refresh the forum page to see if there are any new posts/responses, it sends me to page 8, and I have to click on the 1 to get back to page 1. I just wondered if this happens to anyone else.

Since no one has responded to this, I thought I'd bump it up to page 1 again. Has anyone else had this problem of finding yourself on any page other than the first one when you refresh the forum list page? Seems to always be page 8 for me.

Yes, it happens to me. It never takes me to the first page on any posts.
Or on the main page. I thought it was just set up that way.

it probably is taking you to the most recent post in the thread that you click on.
