I just started my second generation and now my little guy won't read his e-mail. He does work in the office but every time it tells me he is checking it and then he will shake his head no.

I just had this problem too. I shut the game down completely for a minute (exit all the way out to desktop) then went back in, and she successfully checked email again

I had this problem to but it only seemed to happen when I mved the kids to check the email....So Instead I got the parent to do it. And it Worked.

I had this happen, but I think if someone else is heading to the computer from some other part of the house before you chose to have someone check the e-mail, then they won't do it. See if someone else goes to the computer soon after your person refuses to use the computer. They do that with the shower too.
