One of my families has an adopted girl. They had a boy and just now had triplets. When the triplets were born I got a message that Four is enough. It didn't count the adopted girl. It's like she doesn't exist.

You got the "Four is enough" message because you now have reached (and surpassed) the number of four kids. You had two kids, then jumped straight to five, without arriving at three or four kids.

But they didn't count the adopted girl. It just counted the little boy and the triplets.
In my family with six kids I got the Five and the Six message when I reached those numbers. None of them are adopted though.
It's like they aren't counting the adopted girl. She is .... strange though. When she plays with the toys her head spins around and around. It's really creepy.

The triplets names are Sandria, Cariana, and Paprika.

Ok, lemme see if I can explain this in a way that makes sense...

Before the triplets you had 2 children including the adopted girl, right? So, when the triplets were born you had 5?

The "birth" or dropping of the triplets put you past the "Four is enough" trophy. You didn't receive a '5 kids' trophy because there isn't one. If your family has one more child, you will receive the '6 kids' trophy because your family will have 6 children.

They are not excluding the adopted child.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying I got a message (Not the four is enough message but another message) that says this family has four kids total. They don't. They have five. The message didn't count the adopted girl.

What sort of message? I can't ever remember seeing a message like that, apart from the trophy message. Go to the parents' Details screens. How many kids are shown?

In your original post you said:

When the triplets were born I got a message that Four is enough. It didn't count the adopted girl. It's like she doesn't exist.

As has been explained, because you went past 4 with triplets, and there is no message for 5 kids, you received it after the triplets were born.

There are only 2 messages - 4 is enough, and No Vacancy after 6 kids.

Sorry, it wasn't a message it was an email. It was an email message to me stating that they now have four kids.

Yep, been playing a while now and I agree. There is no such email. What you got was the notice that you had fulfilled the trophy that is Four Is Enough. Even if your adopted child had actually been born to them, you still would have received that trophy message because as soon as you have four kids OR FIVE then you get that message to let you know that you accomplished getting that trophy.

It has nothing at all to do with the fact that the child was adopted.

stonzee, do click the family tab below the game screen and check if the adopted kid is there. If he/she is there and you can find him/her by the help of details tab, I think there's nothing to worry. Write us about the result, and we'll try to help if you still need it smile

Btw, your avatar is irresistable grin

Oooh, the girl isn't showing up on the family tab. She's only 5 or 6 so she should be there. I can't find her running around anywhere either.
I'll quit the game and restart it after I get home from church tonight.

That was the answer I was hoping not to get. I remember reading about a similar problem in one of the threads here. I think it was about a kid which got lost while he/she was hiding. But if I remember right, it was before the .05 update. Which version do you have? When you click menu, you can see it on the bottom left corner of the game screen. If you have an earlier version, you may want to update it. Please write back if she's still missing. Meanwhile I'll try to locate that thread I was talking about and see what's written there.

EDIT: I found the thread, but if I understand right, your problem is a bit different. Anyway here's the link:

Glitch? My kid went into the closet and didn't come out

miskinsincap, in the post you're talking about the kid disappeared but was still in the family tree and was there when it came time to choose the next generation.

Yes, Lewanda; I've just found and saw that. Actually, if I couldn't find the thread, I was gonna pm you and ask if you remembered what happened (because of the discussion about your beautiful mods, I remember you were among posters there blush)

Anyway, I'm out of ideas. Maybe LadyCF can help?

miskinsincap, I'm afraid that she is just gone. The game sometimes loses people and things, and they never show up again. It's just one of those things Arthur will have to try to fix in VF2. smile By the way, I hope he listens to some of the suggestions of the forum members. I've had some of the same ideas that they're coming up with. The game is good, but it could be great with a few more things added to it.

I have the newer version. In another one of my families a boy is missing. He still listed in the family tree but he is now where to be found. He's not old enough to go off to college. He's just gone.

stonzee don't look for him to come back either. I've learned in this game when someone/something is gone for more than half a day it isn't coming back. I lost people in the villager games too, but it wasn't as often as it seems to be in this one.

That is a little scary about peeps or things going missing. I've not had that problem and hope I don't. Maybe those who have had the problem should backup their families at the end of each night, and if someone or something goes missing you could at least go back (I think) with the saved file. I guess you'll lose any progress, but at least you might have your peep or things back.

Hope the peep does come back. smile

Thanks Sweetie! I have learned since to save my files. I save them each time I leave the game. It's a good idea for everyone to do that.

I had something happen in my game a little while ago that may or may not be related to the "missing" peep problem. I was playing a house full of kids. I saw one of them run into the toilet and close the door. The mother was heading in the same direction and when I clicked on her it said "Nature's Calling." I thought, well, she's just going to have to wait. Right? Wouldn't that be what you would think?

Well, she did stop then the "Nature's Calling" left and it said "nothing" and then suddenly that changed again to "Nature's Calling" and she went right through the door! I sat and watched wondering what was going to happen because the little boy still hadn't come out yet.

A little later, the door opened and the little boy came out. The door was left open and you could see the toilet with no one else in there. I panicked and used the hand to try to "grab" the mom (even though I couldn't actually see her) and ended up being lucky and it pulled her out.

So, I'm just wondering if maybe that's how peeps are disappearing.

Wow, so I guess they just got kidnapped or ran away.
Can I put their pictures on milk cartons?

I'll certainly save my files each time I play now. Thanks for the advice.
