Just started a new game and have not found the right husband yet for Rusty. She has adopted Lilina who knocked ever so softy upon her door. Was thinking I may try to have a single Mom family. Has this happened to anyone else before?

I tried it but she never made enough money to buy anything other than food.
And the bird bath couldn't be fixed with only one adult.

One of my peeps found an orphan on her doorstep as she was coming home from college. She did find a husband later though.

I had a single dad for awhile until finally the right girl came along who wanted both him and his adopted son.

I had a single mom (Sparkle) and she did fine!

She was one of the rainbow haired girls, and there simply isn't a man out there that would be her match!! wink

Her and her adopted daughter (Lila) fixed the birdbath together, it doesn't have to be an adult that helps.

In the end she married a man when she was 58 (I thought it was quite cute she could still attract the boys well into her 50s!), but he didn't even last a year before dying.

I encourage anyone to try the non nuclear family approach, as long as an adoptee turns up you'll be sorted for the next generation.

By the way, Lila the adopted daughter had three children, one of which had five children of her own and an adopted son. Now Sparkle's great-granddaughter (Saphiana) is 27 laugh

I had a single father of 2 girls. The girls showed up one at a time and he adopted them. He never married. He was able to fix the fountain with his 18 year old daughter.

I am playing with a single mother. She has 2 adopted daughters. When one of them is 14 y.o, I will put them to fix the birdbath and the waste of water full of pressure.

Don't forget that children can collect and sell them on internet. This is a good money!

I might try this. Sounds like fun if the right match doesn't come along. If I do it into one of the generations that already has money, I don't need to worry about that!

I did fix the bird bath with her adopted daughter. And they do collect and sell collectibles. The single mom sends me an email every day that she is lonely and it's hard to find the right person. She works some but is always depressed.
