I keep trying to get one of my peeps to check her email (she is the only one in the house now, just started new generation) and she keeps refusing. What do I do??

This happened to me once and I had to have my peep "fix the router" because it was off line. (you can tell if it off by a little red light on the router - should be green). If that's not the problem, try the other computer in the office. It seems that the adult peeps only use one computer in the office.

It is probably because two of the other peeps have "booked" the computers already, and are on their way to use them. When one turns up, pick them up to interrupt their action, then either get them to answer the email or retry with your original peep.

There are no other peeps to book the computer. She is the only one in the house right now (I think it is a marriage proposal coming in.) Router was fine, she just would start to check email and then say no and shake her head and I put her on it about a dozen times and the same thing kept happening. Her status was happy (no one ever seems elated when they first move into the house tho and I have never had this problem before) I

Sorry, I hadn't noticed that you said the peep was alone in the OP. What version of VF are you running? I think that there was a bug in an early version that stopped the peep from reading email if you were running the tutorial and it got derailed. Go to the menu screen and if it's not version 1.00.05 see this thread for how to upgrade. That's assuming you got your game direct from LDW, that is ...

I had this same thing happen with a magazine editor who disliked art. At first, I thought she wasn't doing her office job because it was related to art somehow, so I was frustrated waiting for a desensitization kit. She also refused to check the incoming marriage proposal.

When I quit the game and reentered, she was able to read and accept the marriage proposal though. A few hours later I bought the desensitization kit anyway because I planned to get paintings and didn't really want her to have this dislike.

Try exiting the game and trying again.

Stg similar happened to me with a peep. He refused to take shower, and claimed somebody else was already there although there were two peeps in the house and the other one was working. I said 'ok, you can stink if you want', then changed to another family. When I returned back, he was still stinking, but this time didn't refused to shower.

Thanks Arnie, I do have 1.00.05. You were right Heather and miskinsincap I logged out for a while and when I came back she was agreeable to check email this time. Maybe I just have a stubborn one. Thanks!!

lilgreenapples, if one of your peeps refuses to answer email it's because of one of two things:

1. Make sure the router is working. If it isn't they won't answer email. Just drop them on the router, and they will fix it.
2. Two others in the house are using the computer. You may not see them sitting there at the moment, but if you click on your other peeps you'll see that they are coming to use the computer for some reason.

Try another computer. Or fix the router.
