A family I had refused to have children. 15 times I tried, using everything I could and they would not have one. But, fear not, I thought, as I remember a failsafe was supposedly put in in case that happened. I was wrong.

My last person died and now the game is over. Nearly a month of work, gone cause the people would not have a child.

So, what was this failsafe that was put in? I don't think it works.

The failsafe was to prevent the buggy situation where the couple said "it's too soon..." basically forever. What do you mean that they refused? The only "refusal" in the game is arguing, but that's fairly easy to overcome with persistence. What did the doctor's consultation say about each of the would-be parents?

One of my families is like this. They "definitely" and "would be nice" want kids. Thankfully they had one, but each time after that they would refuse or argue. I pampered them so much to make sure they'd be in good moods, and have plenty of food, money, and even a bunch of house upgrades... but no! Baby boosters, etc, nothing worked. So I'm thankful they managed to have at least one. They were supposed to be my Middle-Class-working-huge-family Family!

I also have one family who don't want kids, and they ended up with four! They had one on their own, and then adopted three more. Hah.

... Then I have my free spirited yoga family who had triplets and then two more singles.

Anyway I think the adoption is supposed to be the failsafe? Kids randomly show up on their doorstep and you can adopt them. But my family who didn't want kids are the only ones so far to have them.

I have three separate families just to make sure everything goes alright and I have "backups" just in case, so things don't happen like what happened to your family. frown

The couple did the baby dance at least 15 times and a child would never come. I tried giving them boosts, perfumes, everything and they would never have a child. Never did a doc's consult as that never occurred to me. Pretty frustrating. Like I said, a month of work down the drain cause the peeps would not do what they were told.

That's bad luck, but some people in real life never succeed in producing a baby. You can't blame it on a bug in the game since they did try but failed.

Actually I can blame it on a bug, but what's the point? Either way, my game is over. Maybe something should have been added, so the game doesn't just end after putting in so many hours.

I actually have a suggestion for such situations. Would it be too hard to program the game such that when a family dies with no kids, a random character (or some random characters to choose from) comes up as distant relatives (or maybe even suposedly nieces or nephews of the former couple) to inherit the house if you agree to do so?

Thats exactly what I think would be nice. That way you can continue playing and not start from scratch.

I'd hate for any of my families to die out and the game to end ._.
We could have a "Leave this house to a random Hobo" option.
All those characters waiting for adoption, surely one of them would like to move in.

LOL!
Then the house might be ten times messier from the random hobo throwing parties because he is off the street. LOL
