Alright, my people were advancing just fine and getting money and being all happy... then we get enough money and I buy the computer room upgrade and suddenly, they don't advance anymore. Isn't that the opposite of what's supposed to happen? They're getting money but they won't advance.

I have 1.00.05

Lady told me that the higher they go, the longer it takes for them to advance to the next level. Maybe you are high enough that it's taking a long time now. I have upgraded some of the rooms and definitely noticed that they advance quicker.

Same here. In my first generation my peeps only reached levels 6 or 7, apart from one who made it to master. When I got to the second and later generations, and was able to afford upgrades to their work rooms, nearly all all have made master eventually.

Are they supposed to get a bigger salary with each advance in their career? I assumed they would, but mine hasn't changed and they are now at level 3.

Not necessarily. The career advancement structures vary. In the case of at least one job

their salary actually goes down.

.... I'm not talking about the level. I'm talking about the progress bar. They'll make money but their progress bar won't move a smudge. It's stayed at exactly halfway for 9 hours now. The one who works in the kitchen(higher level) has advanced a level and a half in those 9 hours.

LOL! I must be a slave driver Arnie, because I've not had a peep that didn't make master 8, and I have families in the fifth generation now.

You slave driver you! wink I have only had a few Masters so far and they were all 2nd or 3rd generation. ummm, I take that back, I think maybe I did have one Master in the first gen, but definitely no more than one and even in the 2nd and 3rd gens, they don't all make it to Master.

Alright, they gained skill points and advanced levels while I wasn't watching them second generation... but come third generation- they did it both ways. SO I guess I no longer have a complaint.

I'm with ya, Lewanda! I get sooo disappointed if one of mine doesn't make master. I try to determine if it's because of the way I structured the kids (not during the night) or if they died too young... today I bought a treadmill earlier than I normally would have for just that reason. I'm afraid one of my lil females is going to kick the bucket before she makes master for me.

Mastering a career means only that they now earn the highest salary for their profession. They still get paid in the same ways that they always have at lower career levels.

After they have reached master level, they don't have to continue to work on their career, as there is no more progress to be made as far as earning promotions and raises. They will continue to earn the small bonus for completing a "work cycle" when they do "work on career," in addition to their normal salary. I find it more beneficial to have them do other things to help ensure a longer life (treadmill, workout, etc.) especially if their salary is high.
