You people really take too much stock in changing the time on the pc. Changing the time may affect this game, but will not harm the pc in any way. Most apps are not time dependent and neither is the OS file system. So, if you want to jump ahead, feel free to.
Obviously you use your computer as a toy and not a tool. That's fine. I use mine as a tool. Some major (and common) app types that are affected adversely by time-travel are calendaring and personal information management utilities. Many, many adults use these tools in their daily lives. Changing the time on my computer would make me miss meetings, appointments and deadlines. I depend on my calendar and project management timelines being right in order to get through my work week sanely. Games like VF are just a fun diversion when I take a break.
My original point was that if you are not the sole user of your computer then you should leave well enough alone, unless you're sure that the other users will be OK with you changing things that may affect their experience. If your computer is merely a platform for games (just a toy) then it's less likely to cause problems, but I wouldn't make any assumptions along those lines. If someone in my household messed with my computer's time in order to play a *game* due to a lack of patience and self-control, I would be (rightfully) livid.
All I'm saying: exercise common sense, good judgment and courtesy to others.
