I find it horrid that a 50 year old creeps around like an 80 year old, lol. This game is too strange about some things. I will be 50 this year and I walk just as quickly as my grown children, who are in their 20's. And, how horrid is it that they seldom live past 60?! I can see people dying earlier on a primitive island, but not as the 'norm' today. At least I hope 60 is not the norm! I have a friend who is in her 70s and she is healthy and doesn't walk all slow and bent over either. This is too much. Please let them walk normally longer and live a little longer, lol.

Other than that, cool game, if a bit slow. But, I solved that problem by running 3 families at once. Thinking of adding the last 2 as well. I really enjoy smacking kids for jumping on the bed and especially for banging dishes, hehe.

Yeah, I agree totally with you. No one naturally is that old at 50 or even 60. Stephen must be very young to not understand that. LOL!!!

I just found that with my first family. I stared a 'nighttime' family last night. They're in their 20's so no issue on the speed. The parents of my first are in mid to late 50's. I swear a snail could pass them right now, they're moving that slow.

Ironically, they have 4 children, 2 are in college. The younger two girls are 14 and 16. Isn't there a saying somewhere about kids keeping you young.

Do you guys have the 05 update, as I think it changed the slower movements to 55. At least all my games are 55. I just checked to be certain, and a set of parents are 52 & 51 and are walking very fast when their energy is higher.

I agree they slow down too much at 55 though.

They also live longer with the 05 update. I had one live until 70, but the other set of parents were in their late 60's. I didn't know exactly as they went during the night, but they were over 65. I guess that's still young, but if they hang around too long we'll be saying "come on already, I want some new family members so I can have kids & activity again". laugh

If you do have the 05 update, are your games original ones before the 05 update come out?

I have version .05. But, gee, like I said, slowing down that much even at 55 is silly. If I get that slow in the next 5 or 6 years, I'm gonna get me an electric wheelchair so I can go faster, lol. Hey, that's an idea for the old folks on VF!

Yes I agree 55 should be moved maybe, to say 60 if they live to late 60's in most cases. I have families at different ages, started a few days apart, so when they slow down, I have busier, more energetic families to spend time with. I tend to leave the older folks be, just checking in occassionally. Is that mean? laugh

LOL, Bren, that's hilarious. Hope my kids don't 'let me be' when I hit 50 or 60, lol! Maybe they should put a retirement home on there to send all the old folks once one dies and you want to start the new generation in the house, lol.

My version is 05, Bren. I only noticed it because of the teenage kids passing them as they were walking up the stairs in the passageway.

Yes maybe. laugh

I make sure they are fed, but don't worry about weeds & wrappers as they are just too slow. I let the new generation fix all that up when they arrive.

So in a way I'm letting the old folks do what they want. Anyway, that makes me feel better. wink

Personally, I agree with you guys. I'm 51 and when my daughter and I went to the mall together recently, she asked me to slow down, lol! It's very annoying that they walk sooooo slowly at 55 (which is when mine do it too). I really don't think they should have slowed it down until at least 65. Or picked a speed in between the youthful speed and the current "old" speed. You know, maybe a little slower, but not at a snails pace. Heck, a motorized wheelchair would have no problem passing them up, lol!

I don't like that they turn old and grey at the tender age of 45! Their 'old' head shouldn't kick in til at least 50, if not older.

I think they get old and die earlier in the game than in real life simply because you have to wait for them to die to continue the game (the single Worst feature of VF imho).

VF 2 really needs a granny flat attached to the house so the grandparents can live on with their children...I feel so morbid just waiting for them to die...! sick frown

I gave one of my oldies an energy drink, thinking she'd speed up for a bit. Unfortunately, she continued to walk at a snail's pace although her status said she was "Hyper!"

Yes, the little people age much too fast! Mine were nearly competely gray or bald at 40, and they start slowing down shortly after. (Granted I am still playing with ver 1.00.01 and I think I read they live longer in the updated version). My first one died before age 60, and as far as I knew she hadn't recently been ill. Horribly depresing. cry

I tried the same thing and got the same results. Funny to see her moving at a snail's pace yet it says she's "hyper" wasn't it? lol!

What is sad is when a runner hits "old age" and starts walking at a snail's pace.

Man, I am almost 55 & I don't walk as slow as these peeps. In fact, my father who is 80 walks faster then they do. Let's get real here.
