It seems like my family members are not affected at all by their likes and dislike. The dad dislikes cooking but he keeps going to the kitchen and prepare meals on his own!
Or a child that dislike toys but plays with them etc.

Is that a bug?

I don't think that is a bug. I found that most likes and dislikes didn't seem to affect the game. I had a dad dislike plants but picking up weeds. I had a mom dislike playing but she was loving that pinball machine.

Some likes and dislikes do have an effect though. You should try getting someone who likes running, but stay away from someone who dislikes jumping.

I have the same issue!
In one family, the dad hates stars yet he's the one who constantly wakes up at night to star gaze.

In another family, the eldest son hates workouts but he loves working out as well as quick workouts. The youngest son hates grass but he enjoys playing on the lawn.

Last family, daughter hates brushing her hair but it seems to be her favorite hobby. The mother hates music but she listens to it all the time!

All in all, its pretty odd. But I find it entertaining though. =x

What kind of effect does it have if they dislike jumping?

In the VV games, I loved runners -- I think most, if not all, of us preferred them, right? But in this game, I actually don't like the two runners I have as much as the "non-runners" as they almost seem as though they have ADD or something, lol!

I have two runners, and they've done their thing and out of the room before mom ever makes it to the bed. Still they've managed to make babies. LOL!!!! Only in the virtual world!

Also talking about likes and dislikes; I have one peep who has no likes or dislikes listed, but if I try to get her to go swimming she runs like she's terrified of water.

Freezes them when you praise them. They get stuck there.

I didn't like the runners in VV, but I love them in VF! God knows why. Maybe because they get the wrappers in the garbage so quick, and I can send them to pick up the weeds on the other side of the house!

Lewanda : I had the woman running out of the pool too. She was nursing, I assumed that was the reason. Was yours nursing too? Weird. At least she didn't get a beard or a bald spot
