4th gen - no marriage proposal!

Help! I'm on my 4th generation, now with one girl (26 years old). I've been with her alone for the last 2 days, pausing the game overnight, and haven't seen one marriage proposal! How will my Virtual Families continue? Maybe I'm being premature about this, but 2 days is a long wait - every other time, I've seen a proposal within the first 15 minutes or less! thanks

What version of the game do you have (look on the menu screen), and have you installed any updates since purchasing and installing Virtual Families?

We're seeing some reports from players that might indicate that installing updates over games in progress might create various issues (or fail to resolve issues in games that were experiencing difficulties prior to the update). I wouldn't give up, though, since it's entirely possible that you will either start getting email proposals, or get an 'heir' through one of the random events.

tada (sort of). my little lady finally received a marriage proposal at 58 yrs old! although we tried many times, they could not have babies. She passed at 67, leaving a slightly younger widower. He remarried and widowed again three (!) times before passing on himself. Sadly, my family was gone, with no new generation to take over the house. My game was over.

Keep trying with your 49/50 year old. I had a 50 year old woman have a baby, so it's not over the moment she turns 50. You definitely should use the baby boost on her, if you haven't already. More baby boost might help.
Plus you might get the adoption event.

No Matchmaking Emails

I am at my Fifth or Sixth generation. I adopted my child, a boy, and it has been 5 "years" and he still hasn't gotten a Matchmaker Email. He doesn't get any Email. He works like mad and is constantly being promoted, obviously he needs to work less and flirt more. He does send me emails. I am afraid he will grow old and die alone.
Any Ideas?

Now I have a doubt... I'm kinda selective in finding husbands/wives to my peeps. I'd not feel comfortable in getting the first one that comes around. I've never had that marriage proposal problems so far, but now it's freaking me out the idea of not having children and have to end the game without getting all the trophies... If you get this game over thing, is it possible to start a new family from the point you were before?
