I am not sure, but I think feeding them the fruit (bananas, oranges, etc). Also, feeding them the organic food is healthier for them. Lastly, I buy the vitamins whenever they are available and give them to the person with the lowest health bar.

KaeChan, I was just reading over the posts that talk about illnesses and I saw your post where you have someone with the hiccups and you can't get them to drink at either one of the sinks. Now I see this one. You know, one of my little guys (one that was a dad) just kept getting sick. Every time I went in to check on how they were doing, he was sick again -- even though each time I gave him one or two or three types of medicine until he finally would act like it had made him well again.

So, after the fourth or fifth time I saw that he was sick, I finally paid for the doctors checkup (his health bar was really low) and it said that he had a major illness and needed the shot of the strongest medicine. So, I bought that and gave it to him and then he was exhausted and I had him go to bed. After that, he didn't keep getting sick, but it seemed like he got tired more easily than the others. He was my first one to die and he was only 56 when he died.

So, if you can afford to pay for the doctor's checkup, I would recommend it. If you can't and it gets really bad, you can start that family over again -- there's an option in the Menu to start over. I haven't tried using that feature though, so I don't know if it makes you start with just the original person or if it lets you start with the original person and their spouse. I have a feeling that if you pick to start over, you start with JUST the original person and then you have to pick a new spouse for them and don't end up getting the one they had. I haven't wanted to try it to find out.

Oops, I misread your title. I thought you asked how to keep the health bar from getting low.
