There has been a sock stuck on the desk of the office for days on end. Can't drop a family member on it to pick it up, can't get rid of it. Any suggestions?

There's an event in which some kids come and offer to clean the house inside and out for some money. Other than that, I can't think of anything.

Do you have kids that can reach it?

I've noticed sometimes the kids can grab things the adults can't.

The kids can't reach it either. I wonder if I upgrade the office if it will vanish, although I kind of don't want to do that yet because the adults in this generation are both kitchen career workers. Maybe when the next generation starts if they are an office worker I'll upgrade it and see. Or wait for that random event!

That appears to be an unwanted effect from upgrading from one version of Virtual Families to another. We tried very hard to do the updates in such a way that it wouldn't force everyone to start their games over, but we can't always avoid small issues like this. We would like to know if you do get the housekeeping event, and if that sock is removed with the other socks and weeds.

I know someone else talked about this, but here's a picture of what I think may be a glitch:

It's not really a glitch in the game; rather, it's a problem that resulted from installing updates over earlier versions. It won't happen in a new game that hasn't had an update installed over it.

Okay, the sock issue isn't resolved, but now I'm having another problem. I'm unable to purchase clothing from the store. No matter what clothing I try to buy, it says that I already have it even when I don't. Weird!

We are beginning to suspect that updating the game has caused problems for many people. It may be that the only way to fully resolve these issues is to start over with 1.00.05. We are still investigating, however, so if you have a spare game slot, could you start a new game there and see if those problems exist in a new game?

Well, it appears that all is well with the new family. I can buy outfits, and no stuck socks or wrappers thus far. I'll post again if any of that changes, but everything seems okay with the new ones.

Thanks, Maggie! That would be what I would expect, if the updates to the game were causing anomalies in games that were started with earlier versions. We really did try to fix things in a way that would allow everyone to keep their games going, but it appears that we were not totally successful. frown

LadyCFII is bugs not appearing cause by installing .05 over .04 because i have 2 computers, 1 with lastest update while another with .04 version, my .04 version dont have bugs appearing problem but the other have.

Thanks for the responses, Lady! The issues with my original game are a bit annoying but certainly not anything that I think deem it unplayable! They definitely aren't a big deal to me. Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Maggie, for being so understanding. smile

Prostar, we really can't say for sure what things might be caused by updating over the top of existing games. I would say that everyone has to determine for themselves if they think it's worth starting completely over with 1.00.05 to avoid any possible issues resulting from the update process.

Hey, I just wanted to report that the random cleaning event did in fact remove the rogue sock!

I've tried with adults and tried with kids, every family member. I even tried to pick up the dog... not that that worked at all, but nobody can pick up that darn wrapper left on there!
When I find out who left it there, the red hand's going to get some use >:[ Plus I'll know who to feed lots of salty candy.

I haven't upgraded from one version to another. I've had version .05 from the start and that's what I still have now.

I found a fix for my issue without waiting for the random house cleaning event.
Pregnant office worker picked it up. I put her there and it said she didn't feel up to it (work), so I put her there again and she picked up the trash. Woo hoo! Clean house again ^.^

I have the exact same problem with the wrapper on the phone. It is on a game that started with .05. I will try the suggestions listed here. My ocd is getting the better of me!!!

I had this happen to a game that didn't have another version installed over it. I only just started playing, and it's the 05 version. And the sock is still there. Haven't a maid event, though, so maybe that will help.

I think their little white circle has to touch the object rather than them themselves smile
