I don't think it's mean at all. There is no 1-hour timer on the Mac version, which is the reason for the store purchase limitations. Peeps usually don't get sick in a 1-hour Windows demo. If a Mac user is playing the game long enough to encounter sickness, they should have a very good idea of whether or not they like the game enough to buy it. They can always pause the game until they've decided to purchase the game, so that the sick peep will not decline in health.
