Those of you who have started 2nd generation families, How did you choose between the children? It is going to be hard for me to choose only one to get the house because all of my families (i have 5) have 5 or 6 children.

Oh dear, that is a tough one! Sometimes I let their appearance beguile me. Sometimes their age or their choice in careers. I do admit I find it hard to choose, but I let myself believe the others are globetrotting now, having all the fun, while the "chosen" one gets to work hard (yeah, by me ) and has all the responsiblities.

I have two families that are on their second generation. I chose one child for good income/career, and the other one because she was a runner (like her mom, though she was adopted).

Savannah, when you choose to go to the second generation, all children automatically become "of age," even those who were still at home. I choose based on salary and amount of money the family has on hand. My second factor is whether or not they "definitely" want kids, because if so, I know I have to take the first proposal or find some other way to keep them happy fast. Edit: I should specify that by salary I definitely do not mean that I choose the highest starting salary. I go by the information we have collected on salaries in this thread

I generally go based on salary and looks. I rule out the ones i didnt like anyway, and out of the ones left, i usually pick the one with the highest salary. I dont go by their preferences on kids because it doesnt seem to ever make any difference. For my first family with 6 kids, the dad thought it would be nice to have kids and the mom said not really.

If there was a kid whom I particularly liked growing up, I will choose him/her. (One of my first washed the dishes within minutes of mommy letting him run free. He was a very hard little worker, and cute to boot.)
If none of them have won my heart, I go with the cutest. If none of them are cute, I move on to money and willingness to have kids.

Personally, I go by desire for children and salary in the early generations. Later on I trend towards looks and careers. Other times I just develop an attachment to one of the kids for one reason or another while they're growing up and choose them.

I roll a die and determine mine randomly. It makes it kind of fun the suspense of not knowing and hoping one of my favorites will make it.

Personally, I go by desire for children and salary in the early generations. That's what I do, too, although I tend to carry it through all the generations, not just the early ones. That's not to say that if a particular peep has caught my fancy, I won't pick him or her, though.

I generally pick the cutest one, male or female. However, if they have a career which I don't like in real life, like telemarketing, I just can't click that Adopt button.

I'll generally try to look at each child's adoption screen at least twice before deciding, based mainly on their money-making potential and preferences for kids. In my last game I looked through each screen of the six kids about five times. It was so difficult to choose between them that I ended up picking one of them almost at random. Me to for the most part. there have ben occasions though when I've decided on a girl one time and boy the next for a few generations, but generally I pick the best earners and preference for kids. Two who definitely don't want children can be a real pain in the butt. Making for a slow and frustrating game. I have, on occasion though changed myh little peep's careers. Occasionally one just will NOT work on their career, despite several praises and sweeties etc., I guess they've just ot been happy with their lot in life. If that's the case and the opportunity presents itself I will change them. If I end up with a couple who don't really get along much, don't like to work, and won't build up much cash in which to move the game on, I'll feed them only on the bargain smart price foods. short life, I know but times must.....lol

Since 1 of my 5 families received the 100 Trophies Award my new goal is to have a rainbow girl born to the family. Therefore, the child I choose to inherit the house is the closest one to Miss Rainbow on the heads chart. Then I try for a suitable spouse. I'm getting closer to Miss Rainbow.

I typically chose the prettiest one Or the one who does the most housework. My third-oldest daughter, Cariana, does all of the laundry, cooking, etc. on her own. Plus she has great genes, ha ha. Her mother and father are getting older so unless Paulolo, Jessia, or Soonania really impress me Cari is going next!
