Well, where i can download the newer version? Are a rss, subscription or something else that can warn when a new release is done? Are the save states compatible i suppose....?
You can download it from the same place you downloaded it before (I would guess that you downloaded it from
http://www.virtualfamilies.com/)
The file will have the same name(VFSetup_v1_00.exe) but when you install it, it is the new version (1.004).
