I'm just wondering what usually you get first? The Office, Workshop or the Kitchen? I'm going to have to do the Kitchen even though I wanted to do the office. But both of my parents work in the kitchen.

I would do the kitchen upgrade since it enhances the present peeps careers (I believe)though future generations may have different careers.

I'd go with Kitchen if they both work there. It will help you in the game if you do.

My upgrade choices always depend on the careers of my little ones. If they both work in the Kitchen, that's what I do first. If one is kitchen & the other is Office, then I go with whichever upgrade will help the lowest career level.

If the parents aren't too old when I'm ready to upgrade, I'll go with the parents career, but if they are getting on, I'll wait until the next generation and upgrade according to their career as they will get the most years out of it & they are going to be happy with an upgrade, so helps their happiness too.

I went on and upgraded the Kitchen. I have to say it does look alot better. Isn't it also suppose to raise their salaries?

All of the career area upgrades (Kitchen, Office, Workshop) will help your peep work faster to get to a higher salary. I don't believe that it raises salaries alone. It just helps you get to a higher salary faster

I haven't moved on to the next generation yet...do you get to keep your money? Also, do you guys buy them new things or save up for the house upgrade?

Yes, the money stays as well as all the upgrades, food in the fridge, etc

I buy stuff as I can, unless there's something I really want for the next gen, in which case, I save up

Well it's always good so save up a good amount since the interest per day is 10%.

When you've got the 5000 for the first upgrade if you keep those 5000 for just one more day you'll get 500 (which is more than the sum of 2 normal salaries).

I didn't upgrade anything during the 1st generation. The reason for this is that by the time they had the money, they had already naturally made it to level 6-7. No point. What if the 2nd gen uses a different area? So, I upgraded the area as soon as I got my 2nd gen person and knew what area would be used.

I don't spend money if I can help it. The interest is what makes it add up fast!
