Im on my third generation but, I choose the new generation before the mom had died. She was alone and I couldn't just leave her there in that big ol house so I gave it to her daughter. Will there be a message when she dies even though she dosen't live there?

i dont think so. i could be wrong but i did that on one of my families and i havent seen or heard from her since!
