Definitely prefer a more cohesive looks for all the elements involved. Will the huts, stone idol, temples etc be cartoony like the villagers? If yes, then probably better to make the background more cartoony.

A Sparkly Wizard's Hat?

I wish the other on-line game I play had those! My wizard would be the talk of the town!

Toning down the cartoony look of the villager would certainly make it fit better with the background. But don't spend too long doing that - we're all waiting for this to come out!

I definitely agree with Buttoneer. The villager's basic form is true to the original game on the Palm, and so very appropriate IMHO, but the colors do make her stand out a bit too much from the background. Toning the colors down on the villager would be very desireable. Being able to keep track of the villagers has always been one of the game's challenges to me, anyway.

The shadow looks very good! If the nigth, by any chance, exists, see how that shadow moves will be SHOCKING!

Now, the villager. It has a very thin gray (?) line around its head. But only in the head. The body seems like a doll sitting there.

Very nice.

Oohhhhh VS for Windows gimme gimme gimme..and gimme for Mac too lol.

SO excited!!!

As far as that screenshot goes, I agree with the general comment that the background and villager don't seem to mesh well. One of the things I love about the Palm version though is that everything is very cartoony. But's NICE cartoon - beautifully drawn. I'd prefer to see that remain more true. The current background is really nice but it looks like something taken from real life and then the villager was drawn in over it. I'd tone UP the background to make it appear more "drawn" and be cohesive with the villager.

Just my personal preference!

Ohhh and gimme!

I'll also aggree that while the background does look awesome, the little girl is out of place in comparison. Better to tone down the background than to have them not match... The hand pointer to her looks promising though!!

I think we need to see more... ya know, to make a better evaluation.

Seriously though, overall first impressions make all the differenc between a great game, and one that is spectacular... Many people base purchase by what they see in portal screenshots. I'd go with what is already awesome, and ramp the not-so-sure stuff up to it.
