Does anyone know how long it takes for a day to pass? I want my money!!!!! (When it says I will have some amount of money in 7 days that means virtual family days right?)

A day is a real 24 hour day. And no, it means real days.

I think you are a bit confused, sandra. You get money every hour and interest on what you have. As long as they are progressing in their jobs, they will make more money. Also, this game is to be played through generations, not just one family.

I'm 100% not confused. It's dumb that it takes that long to make money while they get a year older every hour or so. That is my opinion. end of story.

The seven-day projection therefore equates to 84 years in the VF world. That's three or four generations.

In other words, there is practically no chance it will prove to be accurate; changing peeps and their salaries, events, food costs, payments for house upgrades, and so on can't be included in the calculation.

Ok, I've seen this 2 hours per year number thrown around a lot by Arnie and other senior members, but I've been tracking time and it seems to be 200 minutes (~3.5 hours) during the day and possibly longer at night. Definitely not 2 hours. Was this changed and I just have a new/old version? (I actually prefer the slower version)

Dilbert27, are you saying that you had 200 minutes of daylight within the game and then it shifted to night? or do you mean you've track ages changing?

I've commented on this elsewhere and I really think it needs to be addressed and not glossed over. There should be a consistent model of time and everything within the game should conform to it. Further, if the dollar button does not forecast what the active set of parents will make, it needs to be removed.

It's not been glossed over. Several posts in the forum have stated unequivocally that 1 VF year = 2 hours in reality. The day/night cycle has no connection with this; it is based on your computer's clock and your own time zone.

At to removing the bank account projection, this is a game, for Heaven's sake! Governments make similar fiscal and financial projections based on similarly flawed data. Don't use it if you don't want it.

Monopoly is just a game as well. Posted on the board "pass go get $200". If I'm playing with someone and they give me $20 when I pass go but tell me I should ignore what's on the board because it's just a game... I'm probably going to have a problem with that as well.
