2. When transitioning to a new generation the kid's ages are changed to roughly the same as that of your original adoptee. I think it's random what actual age shows on the adoption screen, so the fact the kids' ages were reversed is probably a coincidence. This is to allow kids who were 17 or under at the time of transition to be able to marry, and also so that the older kids can be chosen and still have a fairly fully married life ahead of them; otherwise they might be 40 or so and be passed over.

3. I know this is a bug that Barbara has said will be corrected in a future release.
