The subject title should be pretty self explainatory laugh Again, I was hoping to get all concerns in one place so they aren't scattered throughout other threads. I think it will make it easier to read them all and will prevent the disheartening feeling of reading various threads only to find complaints.

Have a go! smile

Mentioned in other topics, the first is a complaint.

Outfits, only having one for the whole game per vf member or waste $250 buying another and then again having just that one.

How about the couple adopting a child the way we chose the first vf member, rather then having them just show up on the door step, you can give random event choice to adopt.

Love the game TYVVM.

I loved the virtual villagers games, but there is nothing to do in this game, it is like playing virtual villagers without the building, finding food etc.

I come home from work and after 5 minutes there is nothing left to do, they have not achieved anthing during the day, except career levels have gone up. I have grown up kids who have left home to go to college. do they come back and if they do is there anything you can do with them besides have kids as that takes 30 seconds.

I love that they play, watch tv, sit down, take out the garbage etc.

they are great to watch, but I like to be involved.

While I like the game, I too would like to be involved more in the gameplay (or at least have the option to be as involved as you like: have it like this where you play for 5 minutes then leave them alone for several hours, but also some things you could do so you could play for longer at a time and have more reason to come back more often than every few hours).

Example: they even feed themselves while you're not playing. Would be nice if you had to do at least something like that yourself, and make sure they don't starve. Now all you need to do is make sure their fridge doesn't go empty.

I also realise that the house needs to be improved over the generations in this game (and spread out the gameplay a bit), but when they have plenty of money, it really doesn't make sense to leave gigantic holes in the floor. No real reason to leave these for later generations to fix, and you're only forced to this course of action because you're dependent on the store to carry the right item so you can fix it up. I realise that it's nice if you spread things out a bit, so that you can't do EVERYTHING there is to do in the game on the first day, but I do still like things to make a bit of sense.

I agree it would be nice to have more to do. I also think it would be nice to get something when you have a baby. Like a gift or money!

Same complaint I have about all VV games - there is absolutely NO REASON a mother of a baby shouldn't be able to work! Especially since they work out of the home.

Not for the "two years" that this game has. And that's just in industrial societies like America. In other countries unless the woman is super weak she has to get up and go back to work the very next day.

My complaint is the people don't sleep frown Practically every one of my family members is tired or exahuasted. Apart from one, but I gave her an energy drink a few hours ago... So that doesn't count smile Even someone I gave this extract-y thing to make them sleep didn't work. They jut never ever sleep and it's getting kinda stupid now... I praise them all the time when they go to sleep, but the only way to make sure they actually sleep, is to have them up on the screen and keep popping them back when they get up, Maye they could have like from 10:00 onwards their priority is sleep... I don't know, but their too tired to do stuff properly and there are never enough energy drinks in the store frown

Oh and one other thing that should make you smile smile
One of my little peoples was in bed, exhausted, and then they suddenly got up to "take a nap" I mean,, seriously? smile stupid person... lol ^^

When my people are exhausted...here's what I do..I just exit the program, I don't pause the game. Then I leave it alone for a MINIMUM of 6-8 hours. (i.e. I don't open it again to check what they are doing...I just leave it closed.) I always make sure that I leave plenty of food for them first. My people are always elated when I open the game (usually the next morning) and aren't exhausted until really late at night (real time)

What I am really angry about is the floor repair kit. I have been playing for about a week real time and during that time I've time travelled quite a lot - I think I jumped a total of one week extra time? But I was really impatient, I had just got the game!... bad me. Anyway - I've bought the floor repair kit 3 times and have repaired the same hole THREE TIMES because EACH TIME an earthquake destroys it!!! Is this some kind of secret punishment for time travelling, you sneaky game developers?? I'm soooo angry. It's my 6th generation I think, floors STILL have holes in them!!

I don't mind the lack of exciting things to do too much. It keeps me from being a slave to the game and I actually get other stuff done while the game is running. I like not feeling that if I take my eyes off the screen or stop constantly trolling the grounds, I'll miss something crucial. I very much like not having to build and scavenge for food. I've only had the game for 2-3 days, and while at first I felt like time was going too slowly, now I think the pace is pretty good. Have a baby in the morning and by lunch time, it's 2 years old and repairing computers!

However, I would like the store to refresh more often, and I think it's ridiculous that the parents only make a dollar or so for every work cycle. Also, I'd love to have more than 5 options for families. Since many people feel that time moves slowly in the game, it might be more engaging to be able to have 8-10 families going at the same time. In addition, I would like the option to be able to rename the families. When I started with the first family, I just typed in my first name. Since then, I've thought it would be neat to be able to come up with a last name for the families and use that instead of my name.

Finally, I really dislike the looks of the characters. Surely they could be drawn to look more like actual people than the blocky, caricature-like figures which LDW seems to be stuck on. And what is up with never being able to see the backs of their heads? Everyone is always in profile unless they are looking toward the screen.

I'm extremely frustrated with the collections. I found them fast and furious during the first few generations, but I'm at the point now that I've achieved everything except completing three of the collections. There's nothing left to do but circle the yard looking for them. I've changed the background on them so the show up in very obvious white squares - there's no way I can miss them. I found a new one about once every 3-4 generations. A generation lasts about a week for me - so one new item a month is pathetic.

Ow nate! Sorry about your arm!

Yes, when you start playing the game you really ask for more money. But in the end, when you have tons of money (like I do now) you wish for other things.

At least when you want money you have - and you know - ways of getting it - it does not depend entirely on the game. In my case, I'm waiting for the perfect match - and this only happens by chance - there's no way of working on that.

It's the same about bugs (check one of the topics about it). I went nuts about a bug that was missing to complete my collection for weeks! And then again, just found it by chance.

This is what really makes it boring to keep playing the game.

sorry about ur arm Nate, hope it heals fast! i only have one thing about vv,vf,ft,and pt. i dont even think it would be a complaint or not. i KINDA dont like the real time thing cause i have to pause vv,ft and pt all the time b/c i never know when ill be back and i dont want them to die. BUT on the other hand, with vf its awesome cause i make them have babies come back and the kids grown! so i think this is it. on VF real time is awesome! on VVs, PT and FT it stinks!!! pause is a very good friend on them for me!! but all in all, LDW ROCKS!! grin

I think the one thing that would help put VF over the top would be if we could buy expansion packs for it with different houses, clothing, furnishings, upgrades, a whole new set of collectables, and maybe even different careers, etc, etc...

I think that what gives a little bit of difficulty to the game is to not earn to much money at a time. If we had lots of money at the beginning of the game, I think it would end real quick.

What I miss is more puzzles, something else to do.

I would like to see other levels of "Home Improvements" and "Career Room Upgrades" once the initial ones are achieved. I completed all of mine in just three or four generations. I am on the 14th generation and there is very little for me to do but check in on them once in awhile and give them more food.

I think it would be nice if the house could be upgraded. Right now my peeps are sitting on more than $30 million and are still raising up to 6 children in one bedroom with only one bathroom in the house.

The game needs to evolve more.

More upgrades is a good thing, MoonStar! I totally agree with you!

It would be nice to have upgrades in furniture too (like upgrading couches and beds and have more resting points), and so on...

I have Virtual Families for my IPOD Touch and would love to see 1) the store to refresh more often and 2) more upgrades! Besides just the kitchen, it would be wonderful to be able to get different wallpaper/sheets/ etc for the bedrooms and redecorate them as well. Or maybe even adding on a room!

I have some complaints.

1. When they are looking for laundry, why can't they stop and pick up the socks. Now that I have all my trophies for socks, weeds, wrappers, and spots. I find it annoying to have to pick up all the wrappers and socks. The weeds are easy to get rid of as long as you have the weed bomb.

2. They won't clean up after a meal, they'd rather go run on treadmill, watch TV or take a nap, some times they do, but other times It's a chore to even to get them to clean anything.

3. I wish we could save clothing we buy. Even though my families can afford to buy a new outfit each time I want to get them a new one, I think it be nice to be able to go into the closet to put an outfit together or take one out you already bought.

Other than those three things, I enjoy the came immensely

I have another to add =) I've noticed that only 6 family members can sit down to eat at a time, so if a player has 5 or 6 kids, the whole family can't eat together. It's hard to make sure all those active little buggers get fed sometimes!

Actually, Autumn, there are only five seats. So if you have four kids, someone has to wait, and having four kids is very common. Plus there are only four plates that get set down, so whoever sits closest to the window has to mooch off of the person next to them, I guess. LOL!

There are a couple of mods in the VF Mods forum that add an extra plate, like this one:

I have vf and virtual villagers 2 on my iPhone and I love them, but like you said autumn leaves I wish they had more upgrades, and more things to fix in the house. I have played almost all the last day of work games with the exception of fish tycoon, and one thing I have noticed is the lack of skin color. I am an African American, and I love the games but they don't have people of color. I do not know if they cannot do this because of programming or what, but it is something I have noticed.

I agree with you Twilight_addict, I would be nice to have different colored people and nationalities in the game. Lewanda one of our lovely mod makers had created a mod with dark skinned peeps on it.

You can find it Here

If you don't know how to install a mod just follow the instructions Here

Yes, that's true Twilight! It would be great if we could have all skin colours, including indians, asians, native americans, and the list just goes on and on.

Lewanda created a mod that is really great: Dark skinned peeps.

I think we were writing at the same time, Robyn Kay! *lol*

That's awesome I will try that on my computer. But for my iPhone I am pretty sure I can't do it. I don't know if anyone here knows how but I have tried adding mods but no such luck. Thanks for all the help though! laugh
Everyone who I have showed the app on my iPhone has been so surprised that they have a game like this, so LDW is good on that. All my friends have mostly downloaded the app.

It's not possible. The iPhone's security doesn't allow changes to be made to any app's folder, so mods are out of the question.

Twilight addict, I am currently working on improving my 'dark skinned peeps' mod. Give me about a week to get it done. There are so many bodies to work with it will take me at least that long doing a bit here and there in my free time. When it's finished it should be much more enjoyable for you to use. Big hugs!!!

It may take a bit longer than I thought. The bodies images are so big they slow my image program down to a crawl. So the work is really slow while I'm having to sit and wait for my image program to cooperate with what I want it to do. I am trying though.

Thank you lewanda!! I would love to see the results on my vf computer version. And arnie I figured that was that was the case. I also have been having issues with the app working on my iPhone so I might have to start all over. frown
