I have just a few simple questions about SV.

Is there any way to tell how much time has passed for the villagers? It'd be nice to know how much longer my villager will be nursing (I know they nurse for 2 yrs).

When something says that it requirers more research, does it mean just points, or an upgrade in something?

Last one. If there are enough points, or upgrades, can any of the villagers solve the puzzles or does it have to be certain ones? For example, right now I'm at the point where if I take a sim to the rock the screen says they could carve on it, but they are confused and then the screen says it might require more research.

Thanks,
Rynn

How fast time passes in Village Sim depends upon the game speed that you have set. You can keep track of how much time has passed by noting an individual villager's age as you play the game. On normal speed, the villagers will age 1 year for every two realtime hours that pass. Slow speed is 1/2 that rate, and fast speed is double that rate. So, on fast speed, a mom will nurse her baby for approximately 2 hours (although it's usually a little bit longer than that).

Most of the puzzles are dependent upon some combination of Village Tech, population, villager skills and other puzzles, so there isn't a single answer that will apply to all puzzles. Usually, if you get the message that you need more research it means either that you lack sufficient Village Technology in one or more areas, or you haven't completed the prerequisite puzzles (or both). The game doesn't care how many research points you have accumulated - it's the purchase of the technologies that enables the puzzles. Most puzzles can be worked on by any villager, but some require specific skills (most notably construction).

Okay, that helps alot. Thanks. Now, I'm at level 2 at everything except fertility and med. I'm trying not to upgrade anything until I get enough points to buy stage 3 science, since that will help me gain points faster. I have pop of 15, 59,000 points and food stays around 2000. I have 6 master scientists, but one is nursing and right now I have all but 2 working on other skills; before I quit for the night I'll put half on research and half on food. Would you say I'm using a good strategy?
