I will. I chose a Lobbiest who likes bathing and doesn't want kids.

Alright, hopefully the woman I chose for him is different enough. She doesn't have any likes or dislikes listed, but she "maybe" wants kids and is an english tutor.

Edit again: I gave her an encyclopedia and now she likes tv.

Oy vey! I haven't tried to make them have kids yet, but I'll tell you something, they do not want to work in their careers. Every time I look away they're off doing something else. I'm constantly scolding them. How can I afford anything if they won't work?!

I think I accidentally picked someone he actually is compatible with! Yeesh! They just had a baby ON THEIR FIRST TRY and he doesn't even want kids!

They don't like scolding. You could try making them work, then praising them when they actually *do* work.

Oh I've done that. I just scold them when they leave the work table when I JUST put them there to go watch tv or something.

Try praising them with the fruit or candy!
As an example, I don't ever use the red glove on the adults, I just use the green and the other praising items and they all work enough to get at least one promotion a day.

YMMV smile

I repeatedly praised my parents, and they usually get one or 2 promotions minimum a day smile .

Well, if I need them to do one thing and the second I put them down they try and goof off, they're getting scolded! And praised when they stick to what I want them to do.

I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible to pick two people so dissimilar they fight all the time. I've got three different families going and so far even though likes and dislikes and feelings about children are different, none of them fight or seem to dislike each other.

I'm not completely sure of the in's and out's of the game so far but my understanding is...

if you put them at the work area and praise them it helps...but if you put them at the work area and they walk away and you scold them, you are actually scolding the thing they are walking off to do.

Make sense?

I don't think it works to scold them for not working or not doing something...it only works to scold them for something they are doing and shouldn't be.

Plus, if they are getting scolded for a variety of things or conflicting things they will get confused and depressed.

I suggest praising them right away when they even begin to try to work at the career. If they walk off, check to see what they are going to do before you scold them. Then just put them back at the work area and repeat smile I think this will help prevent confusion and apathy.

that is what i do, i rarely scold only when drawing on wall, piking on fish etc., i reward good behaviour and if they walk away from something i want them to do i just put them back until they get it . it seems to work pretty well with my families smile
