No, just put the tool kit near a broken part of the floor smile .

And then...

Put a person directly on the broken floor (with the floor repair kit sitting nearby - Floor repair kit must be bought in the store under "VARIED" items) and they will begin to repair the floor. They tend to wander before finishing, so keep an eye on them.

How long does it usually take? I have both my adults fixing the floor and they have been at it for more than half an hour.

I timed how long it took the parents to "fix" the floor on one spot. After 70 mins of them working on the floor, I moved them off it and sure enough, the floor was NOT finished! This is a bit too long. I love the game but the time it takes to fix some of the repairs is really way too long. My husband said "It don't take me that long to repair the floor!" LOL I finally just let the game run and went to watch tv and I'm not nor ever was much of a TV person. After about 2 hours, checking on the game ever 30 mins or so, the floor was finally finish.

Has anyone had the floor repair all done (confirmed in trophies), to open up your game and they floors are all cracked up again?

It may be an event I guess, which makes it fun having to go and do repairs again, but I didn't get any notice of an event, just an email to say the house is looking like it needs repair. Maybe that's all you get? Just wondered if anyone else had this happen.

Normally, praising is a good thing. However, I found that if I praise a person while they are repairing the floor, it tends to lock them into that task. Unfortunately, I don't see the task progressing, they are just going through the motions (task is actually frozen, though the animation continues--? game glitch). In this case, I just remove them from the task and then put them back at it. Now I just don't praise them while they are doing the floors. I just keep putting them back when they wander away, as with other jobs, until they finish. It really only takes a couple minutes to finish a floor repair.

There is an event where an earthquake happens, and it causes some or all of the floor repairs to have to be redone.
