Adair and Hannah have five little girls still at home, and they keep feeding the bread to the birds (the $40. bread). Does anyone know if this is taking away from the family's food supply? Wow, I hope not, as it's really hard to scold them for feeding the birds. Just in case I stocked up on bread while it was on sale.

It hasn't that I've noticed, but I haven't really paid attention. I'll try to keep an eye on it.

I had 276 food, then Dad decided to feed the birds. After he finished, I still had 276 food, so after that little experiment, I'd say that feeding the birds does NOT harm your food supply.

Thanks! That's great, because I can't bring myself to scold them for it, and at times there'll be two or three of them feeding them at one time. That could really take away from the food supply. They're so cute to watch though.

Yikes--1552!!!!

If you click the fridge, you will se a message in the top of the menu bar. It will tell you how much food they have. They seem to be most happy, when they have 1000 or more.

Hi Micky, Click the top of the fridge and it will show you exactly how many food units your little peeps have. It's good to buy the food when it's on sale whether they need it or not. I try to keep 1000 or more food units in their fridge.

I had in fact just worked it out!!!

Click on the refrigerator and it will tell you how much food is available. This does not include food you have bought but is still in your tool tray. Once you put a bag of groceries on the table, its contents are added to the grocery total, even if the peeps have not put them away yet.

FWIW, I checked, and the other food-related actions (apart from preparing a meal) don't reduce the amount of stored food. These include feeding the fish, barbecuing, making breakfast, or even (with a kitchen-related job) working on a career,

The BBQ does drop it by 3. Not a lot, but it does drop it, but it does also increase their fed bar. I find I use the BBQ to feed my 55+ family members when there are no kids as they are too slow to prepare meals and it's a fast way of getting them fed.

I also noticed today that when one of the peeps throws out old food there is no change in the amount in the food units. Wish it worked that way for real!

It was easy for me to check. I was on 1406 food, and dropped the two parents on there (as they're 58 & 56 and needing feeding), and got 1400, so if I got that wrong there would be something wrong!
