I have not gotten any emails since my family died and the son took over. Not one email and he has aged 10 years. Can anyone help me on this? Also, it has been 13 hours since I played and the store has not refreshed the items.

I am having the same problem, I never get bored with Last Day of Work games but I cant have kids, store has not restocked sine yesterday morning, no events or e-mails. What is going on? I cant find the in game tutorial.

We will need to have some more details on these issues in order to determine what might be happening here. The game is very complex, and we haven't seen any issues like that in our testing.

I see that I love V V is on the second generation. What about your game, j2722? Is this the first generation? Did either of you select "Yes" when the game asked if you needed help the first time, which runs the tutorial?

This is my second generation, I am afraid to touch my computer clock to speed things up. I do I do that and and will I get the tutorial guide option again?

yes I did go through the tutorial. I really hate to lose this family since i have worked hard to get the upgrades in my house that I have. I did have to reinstall the game and after that is when the problems started, such as no emails, empty store areas not refilling after 14 hours now, my other family has a 4 year old and they keep saying too soon to have a baby.
Also, unrelated to this, i have never gotten the email for the game guide and i have sent an email with all the info but still no response.

Let's try to keep this topic focused on the problem at hand. There are other threads that address the 'extra' questions. Support is very busy, so please be patient about the guide.

j2722, the option to start the tutorial is only available right before you adopt your first person after starting a new game. Do you remember whether or not you said "Yes" to that question?

OK, so here's what we have so far: in both of these situations, a generational transition was involved, and the tutorial was active for at least one of them.

Have you been pausing the game at all during this time? Did the game behave normally during the first generation with respect to emails and other play aspects?

For me it did, I started a new game under another name and did select the tutorial, therefore causng me to remember that I did use it in my first family. I now have my original family started and my newest family.

Are they both having the problem, or only the original family? And did the family that's having the email problem work properly during the first generation?

in my game, the store has not refilled in either family, and yes everything was working fine with the 1st generation. No I have not paused the game at all

In my newest game it seems to be working properly on the firts generation, it would seem the second generation is the one having the problem

My problem started right after i had to restore my computer to an earlier time, then i had to reinstall the game,(thought i was gonna have to start all over but the game was where i left off) sorry but I can't remember if the 2nd generation started right before the restore or immediately after the restore,

What about your game, j2722? Did the original generation work properly? I assume did, since you must have received at least a marriage proposal.

Now that I think about it, 2nd generation was before the restore....I did get 1 marriage proposal but declined it, then had to restore computer and that is when the problems started

When you say you had to restore your computer, did you restore the entire hard drive from a backup, or something else?

no just picked a restore date from about a week ago

my first family in the first generation did work properly

Was it a Windows system restore point or a Mac Time Machine restore?

my original second generation just got free groceries. You know I stopped picking up collectible they already had as they have lots of money? Wonder if I should pick them up so that things start happening?

Let's keep an eye on both of these games to see how they progress. If there's really a bug at work with later generations, we should start seeing reports from more people, too. We'll watch this thread closely.

I had the exact same problem with my first game. (I have since restarted it with no problems) I think my problems happened because of time traveling too much. I get impatient waiting for things to happen so I skipped a bit. I had just started my 3rd generation family and had gotten and rejected probably two proposals when I suddenly stopped getting emails and noticed the store didn't refresh when it should have. I don't know if anyone else who has had this problem time traveled at all or not but I thought it might shed some light for some people.

I did. I got it. The lesson: DON'T TIME TRAVEL!!!

I am now having the same problem with my guy not checking the email. He is a 2nd generation son who is a rocket scientist. When I put him in the office to check the email, he just shakes his head.

I have not paused or time traveled. And this is the only family I have going.

Look at the menu screen on your game, and see if it's at least 1.00.02. If not, you should update your game.

Unfortunately, it's possible that updating the game won't correct a pre-existing situation caused by an earlier version.

Edit: a new version was just uploaded, so you might try downloading and installing it to see if it corrects the problem.

So, does that mean there's a 1.00.03 version now? If so, and even if not, really, I hope you find a better solution for updates for Mac users soon. Both you folks at LDW and we users are going to be wasting alot of time sending and responding to support forms just to download updates.

It's always a problem during soft launch. We need this time to make sure that the game is ready for general release. Our testers are very talented, but they represent only a small cross-section of all the different computers and players that exist "out there." We always seem to find that there are bugs (some serious) that have not been discovered during testing, despite our best efforts. We prefer to fix these as we move through our soft launch, rather than making all of you live with the problems until the general release.

That does cause a problem for our Mac fans, since our Web site only carries the demo of the Mac version, and there aren't any reasonable alternatives. Once we release the final version that will be going to all of the game portals, the frequent updates will be a thing of the past.

Well, the game *has* been officially released, but in an exclusive "soft launch" on the LDW site only. This gives us a chance to evaluate the game's performance under controlled circumstances first. Once it goes to all of the game portals, many new variables are introduced as each portal repackages the game with their own DRM software, download managers, toolbars, and the like.

I have two games going and I have not received on email for atleast 18 hours on either game. I did do one time travel and this is when the problem occured. I downloaded the updated version of the game, but still not receiving emails. Any suggestions?

Don't time-travel.

The game runs in real-time so if you change your clock you'll mess up the game. There are several extant threads in the forums warning of the dangers.

It looks like you'll have to start the games over.

You could also wait it out and see if the game recovers. Sometimes a messed up game will recover on its own, so it's not necessarily hopeless. It all depends upon how attached you are to a game how much time you want to give it.

I am not getting any emails in my 3rd generation. The other 2 generations were fine, no problems. I did not time travel. #rd generation moved in about 3 hours ago, and with the other generations, I usually got the first "marriage" email within the first 5-10 minutes but I have gotten no emails for anything now.

Edit: Got my first email. Rejected the proposal, but I had backed up the saved games just in case I didnt get another one, this way I can restore the game and accept.
