I've tried everything bar throwing the computer at him. He's a Rocket Scientist, so whenever I drag him over either computer, he works on his career. He's a very lonely 37 now! I've done almost everything I can think of - the house is tidy, he's fed, the garden's weeded, the shed's opened, we fixed the tap, trash is empty, he's slept, watched tv... Three days in I don't want to have to start over... but am thinking I might have to - there's only so much working on your career I can take! To add salt to the wound, he knows how to send me an email!!!

It finally did it!!! He got promoted again - now at level 4, then I got the tutorial note about reading emails... talk about slow! I was about to give up after three days. Fingers crossed the game will actually start now... was sad seeing everyone else with their little children, etc.

I really think we need to have another look at how the tutorial handles the first email. It was designed to make sure that a little person finished their first work task first, but there appears to be a possibility of getting stuck in that mode.

my guy wont read emails or write emails, just keeps shaking his head and he is a sustainability consultant so he needs the computer to work, but it wont allow him to work his career until the email is read.... so now what??? he cant make money, wont read emails or write emails and I have tried all I can think of... any ideas would be great...ps... this is my second generation guy

Did your first generation work properly, as far as you could tell? Is your situation similar to the one described here?

my first generation had no problems, but it is working properly now.. I X'd out of the game a few times and finally when I logged back in it worked properly... and I had three emails waiting lol.... it was similar but my 2nd gen guy wouldnt send or read emails nor would he work his career on the computer...but like I said he is doing it now... so alls good in VF world again

As I said in the other thread, we need to keep a close eye on this to make sure that there isn't an undiscovered issue in later generations.

I have exactly the same problem, only my guy is 26 years old.

Are you setting your person at the computer directly or just in the area?

I find putting them directly in front of the computer helps...or, as above, if you close your game and reopen it that may help
