I have noticed that when I open the game after my peeps have a baby (but the baby is now three or older) it's like they just had the baby and won't let me try again until I let the game run open a while. It's like parts of the game has been paused. Is this normal?

Just wait and keep trying every once in a while. This happened to my couple when their daughter turned 2. After a while, I managed to make them try for a baby again, but they weren't sucessful. Later, they did try a second time and they now have another daughter.
Also, like other people have said, I think it depends of how much they want kids. "Maybe"/"Definitely" couples do seem to want to try for babies sooner than the ones in which one of them is "Not Really".

This game makes me laugh so much! Just now I got bored, was watching this middle-aged couple putter around the house, she's 47 & all the kids are all off at college. Just to hear them argue, I dropped her on him--what did they do? Off to the bedroom to scatter rose petals, & now she has twins! The dog followed them in, & did you know, making a baby involves kicking the dog repeatedly? The dog was underfoot as Dad did his happy dance. Then the dog joined them on the bed, just to hear me laugh like an idiot. Bad news is, the twins will have to keep house all by themselves once they are about 13 yrs old. I'm *so* glad I read the comment about losing whatever children that were still at home, when an elder sib comes in to set up their household. I'd feel like I was putting them out on the street.

Ugh! I'm in a 4th generation house and the couple I have now has been together several days and have NEVER EVEN TRIED!!! When I put them together it gives me the "too soon to try" message.

They are now in their 40s and I have a feeling that I'm going to lose a house that is fully upgraded. frown

Hmm. Guess I didn't know how good my first family was. I had a 'might be nice' mom and maybe dad. They had one son, adopted a son (that happened to look exactly like dad, Brella and I were suspicious) the had twin girls and adopted 2 more girls. This family ended up with 6 kids under the age of 8. They were all teenagers at home there for a while, til they all went off to college one right after the other.

I think a nice addition to the game would have been cocktails. At 41 and 42 years old..... the only way these two are gonna get together is to get really liquored up!! grin

This is getting kind of annoying. Basically every time i try to hav a kid, they argue. And even tho i continue to drag one on the other until they try, it almost never works. They shood be successful about 75% of the time instead of 10%. The wife is 38 and i really wanted to try for six kids this time but i think ill be lucky to get 3 (I alredy have 2). Will this be fixed in an update or is it supposed to happen like this? I dont want to have to buy the baby boost every time i want a baby...

Well next generation, I had 2 right off the bat. YAY! smile Hoping I can pull 6 instead of just 4...seems to be the trend, 1 girl, then 1 boy, then 2 girls. No multiple births yet though, maybe thats the way to get 6. wink

I'm not sure if this really fits in with this, but I bought both the male and female fragrances. They started acting like newlyweds, so I plopped one on the other and they had a kid. They were arguing beforehand and I honestly can't remember their ages. Might be worth a shot. I originally bought the fragrance because I thought there was a trophy related to it, then tried to have a baby and viola!! It might work with just one fragrance, or maybe it has nothing to do with it. Happy procreating!

I had to laugh at this! Silkykitty how old are you because at 46 I "get together" all the time and most of the time without liquor. NOW I feel really old.
