So if two people aren't compatible, do they get divorced eventually?

If one dies while the other lives can they get remarried?

If they can and there's already kids from the first marriage do you see any step-parent issues?

I have no idea about the divorce issue.

But I have seen in another thread that sometimes another marriage is possible.

Step-parents...not sure. Probably not, considering I've found no issues with my adopted children in my families.

Well, if someone experiences any of this I hope they'll chime in.

There is one thing I'd change if I could - the age of the potential mates. It seems they're all within one year of the main family member. But IRL it doesn't always work that way. I, for instance, admit I'm shallow when it comes to age. I'm ONLY attracted to men OLDER then me. I don't get along with younger guys/guys my own age, and would rather be with a man in his 60s then a boy in his 30s. When I play VV I always mate the older men to the younger women.

And of course there's women who prefer younger guys - though why I don't know. I know why I'm attracted to older men - my personality meshes better with their's what with my tastes in music and a lot of my old fashion beliefs and ways. Plus women do mature faster mentally then guys. Still you have marriages like Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. (And on the other end Harrison Ford and that stick figure he married.) And they're happy marriages.

So there defiantly should be a bigger variance in ages for mates. There's absolutely no reason a 40 year old man can't propose to a 28 year old woman in the game.

I believe it depends on when your adoptee gets married. I had a bachelorette for a while who rejected all marriage proposals at first. When she finally got married, her husband was several years younger than she was.

I've got one where the woman is about 5 years older than the man. As mentioned, it depends a lot on the age of your adoptee, and which proposal they accept.

I don't see a trophy for divorce XD so maybe they don't get a divorce. I can however see one getting married a second time if the first spouse dies when the other is a relatively young age. The game guide mentioned that the next generation can take over when they are old enough and one of the parents dies. So I think if the children are over 20 or so, and the parents are not of child bearing years (I think sometime around 40 the woman can't have any more kids even under normal circumstances), there probably won't be any more proposals coming in for the Spouse who is single. Younger than 40, or no children old enough to take over the house, might make for a new round of proposals.

I got an adopted girl in one of my families (the event pop up guilted me into it tee hee).

She was so unruly!! Her favourite activity was "banging plates", and got the Red Glove so often her status went down to A Bit Blue in a few minutes. She also tended to say "jealous of the new baby" a lot - huh?! There was no new baby, she was the new one...

So perhaps there may sometimes be issues with none biological kids, maybe it comes into it too with step kids too (if that ever happens).

Anyway...I have to admit that I got so annoyed I erased her from existence....I deleted that save game and replaced it with a back up ... crazy

Okay. I'd just like to see an older man/younger woman marriage! LOL

It's too bad not more then one generation at a time can live in the house. Like say both parents die and they have one kid at college and one or more under 20s living at home, the oldest comes home to raise their brothers and sisters, maybe even gets married. Opens up all sorts of new problems! *chuckles*

I haven't had anyone die yet...so I don't know. I am a little curious about irreconcilable differences though! laugh

Would be fun to find out, I suppose. Maybe I'll run a second family and marry them to someone who's nothing like them.
