I'd really like the answer to this too...I have been playing for 3 days and haven't even come close to earning enough money for the 2nd upgrade! It makes me not want to spend money in the store.

I too would like to know this as well. With getting your salary then getting emails, for various reason, that take away from it alot....how do you get enough money not only for upgrades but to be able to buy a pet, repair stuff, and things to add to your houe. i.e. air purifier?

*blinks* I've seen maybe 1 person mention they have level 3 work centers. I know I'm nowhere even close to having level 2, much less three. No offense, but I'd like to know who has all of these upgrades smile

Good question...
I thought if I leave them to rest on their own they would not always be so tired...I even invest in the organic foods thinking it would give them more energy. I guess I will just have to play the game some more to learn the strategies! * happy- Smile*

Money is hard to come by. Left my game on all night and they got about $50. Then, had to buy food, so that's gone. Maybe there is a trick of some sort.

The only way I can see doing that is time traveling (is that what you call it in the VV games? it's a term used in Animal Crossing for setting your clock forward) with a couple of workaholics.

Unless there's a "won the irish lottery" mail event that we don't know about. wink

Well I had about $100 dollars then a talent scout came by the house and said I will take this boy to Europe and he will make money and will be trancfered to your bank account and now I have about.. $600 dollars.. so maybe it's the events that occur and the people who work.. hope this helps! grin

I don't know how others have done that, as I only seem to fet about 700 to 1000 dollars overnight while the game is off. I do know that praising them peeps when they work makes them more likely to work and that does seem to affect the overall wealth level. Also have you clicked the gree $ sign in front of the money? If you leave the money alone for a couple days it really builds up fast. Unfortunately I like to buy stuff like the minor upgrades too fast to build up any interest.

I sold my collectrions when I had a good many coins and twigs, so I got over $6 in a hurry too.

Also there might be a few beta testers out there who got the game a bit early to report back any bugs on the final product. If so it would be nice to find out how many days it took to get to the level of earnings.

Plus there is one trophy for "Won the lottery" so I suppose it is possible to get that as an early event and have loads of money for upgrades.

Edit Reason: added collection sale

i time travelled in my first game of vf to earn big money fast...but beware....while time travelling advances your money quickly, you miss out on a lot of things within the game. (collectables etc.) i find when i time travel, money is earnt fast, but the rest of the game virtually stops working.

That's why Time Traveling is not advised or recommended. Not only could it mess up your game, it could also seriously interfere with other processes on your computer.

i did the same trick with collectables like in ww3....i put two of them to collect at the same time so i get double for every collectble(100 for a rare one, 30 for uncommon and 10 for normal)
select the text after the dots to see.

It is not advisable to time travel in any of the LDW games. Not only can it mess up your game and other programs (e.g. anti-virus) on your computer; it can damage your computer operating system.

If you or anyone chooses to time travel; the consequences are on you and could cost more in the end like having to have your computer repaired or even buying a new computer.

Ok, that's going a bit far.

Time travelling will not "break" your computer. It might "break" your game in terms some things not happening in your game because you time traveled, but it will not be likely to break your computer.

Realistically, it could cause your time sensitive software to expire. Anything that has a yearly membership might ask you to renew, any 30day shareware trials will expire, etc etc. Most importantly, it may cause your anti-virus to expire, and without anti-virus, your computer might get infected and you might eventually need a system reinstall. But that's a slippery slope argument.

In Animal Crossing Wild World, a lot of people time traveled, and it was later revealed that setting the time forward had some weird consequences like certain events not happening at all, some characters refusing to show up, not being able to trade in the turnip market because the prices are always not profitable. To stay on the safe side, I didn't even change the clock for daylight savings time so I was an hour behind on the clock for half the year.

What happens when you time travel in VF? Who knows. I'd rather wait around and see if I win the lottery.

You are far off. Changing your clock on your pc will not damage your OS at all. That's silly.

I did get a lottery ticket win event. It netted me a whole $30. Maybe there is a better lotto event? Who knows?

Just curious, but say i did time travel then went back and changed the time back to where it was, could that still make things expire? I am asking because last year my friends son apparently messed with my computer while I was in the next room. By the time I noticed it was well after midnight my clock had been set forward more than 19 days. In some of my games I lost everything, in others I actually got some much needed money/points etc. I set the time back where it was and my games that survived the incident were fine, like nothing changed. I shut down that night, and a trial program I had stopped working and I assumed that i had a virus (I know I did), but in hindsight I am thinking that maybe the time warp ran my trial over and then when I reset everything it just canceled the program.

Just curious because I never thought about that being the cause until now since the very next day my entire computer crashed (virus) and after more than a week of trying to repair I finally had to reformat and lost all my games anyway. Oh and one of my VV games made it through the reformat somehow but by the time I bothered to check everyone was elderly.
