I need help with the Game Guide. It seems to have downloaded all right, but when I tried to open it, I got an error message (sorry, can't remember what it said exactly) - something about the file not being right? Anyway, I thought I'd try opening it with something else - Adobe Reader. Got a message saying Adobe couldn't open it. Tried downloading it again and opening with Internet Explorer (which is what it originally tried to open with). The window for IE wouldn't stay open - it kept flashing on and off (about 3x per second).

Sould I try downloading again or what? I have to go away for about 6 days, so I was hoping maybe there'd be a bunch of suggestions of what to try by the time I get back?! Thanks everyone in advance for any suggestions. By the way, the game itself is pretty cool!

What version of Adobe Reader are you using? I'm not having any trouble opening the guide with the latest release of Adobe Reader (and make sure you have the latest plug-in for your browser, too).

What is the file name, including the extension? For example, filename.pdf.

Good point. We're zipping the file now, and the PDF needs to be extracted from the compressed archive before you can view it. If the filename ends with the extension .zip, double-click the file to extract the PDF document.

1. It's Adobe Reader 9.
2. Filename is VirtualFamilies_Game Guide.zip.
3. Tried opening it again - with AR. Got this message:
Adobe Reader could not open 'VirtualFamilies_Game Guide.zip' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

So, I deleted it. Where can I access the Game Guide download again (without clicking a button that says Buy It Now, 'cos I already paid for the game with guide included)? Also, I forget everything I ever learned about zipped files. I thought there was supposed to be an option saying unzip file of something like that. Any suggestions anyone?

Can you restore it, kelbek? There's another step you must do before you can read the guide. You need to double click the zip file to unzip the document, then you should be able to read the PDF.

I restored both versions I had downloaded and double clicked on them (which is what I had done before) and got the message as stated above. Now I'd like to try downloading it again in case it was somwhow damaged when I did it before. Where can I do this?
