from what I've seen...roughly...about 4 hours real time. (however, I could be wrong!)

Yup that's what I have found it to be, then you get your little kiddie running round.

Yes, four hours seems about what it took my couple of children to get to 2 years old.

I know, waiting sucks, but at least mum can do everything apart from work in the meantime which is a plus.

I got an email saying that the child was born, yet a half hour later she's still carrying him around!

'Tis true, Frizzie. I've had her fix a toilet, a shower, a leaky sink, a busted router, and find at least two dozen (!) collectibles for fun and profit while I'm waiting for kiddo to turn 2. She's definitely keeping busy! grin

Busy is the way forward, don't forget to let her get some rest though, she is still nursing that poor mite!!

No worries - a neighbor was nice enough to donate a hammock, so she's taking some nice outdoor naps!

The mother carries the infant until it is two years old, which takes approximately 4 hours of real life time. The child lives at home until it is approximately 19 years old, which takes approximately 38 hours of real life time. The exception is if there is a child under the age of 19 when you choose to begin your second generation. If that happens, the child will immediately become "of age" and will be an adult capable of inheriting the house for the second generation if you choose.

Actually, BayouBlonde, if you write down the ages of your peeps at a particular time and then check their ages 24 hours later, you'll find they have only aged by 6 years. So, for them to age from 2 years to 19 years takes 68 real time hours.

They do age from birth to 2 in only 4 real time hours but after that it take 4 hours to gain one year in age.

Thank you Simsane hun. I almost stopped myself before posting that because I knew it didn't look right, but couldn't find my notes on this windows user. I'll blame the fever and my blondeness! xP

Oh, are you sick? Hugs to you and a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup then. Come on, eat, eat up, so you can go lay down and get some rest! There you go, all tucked in with your favorite music playing and the shades drawn. Now get some rest. smile

I usually get all my families that are eligible "with child" before I shut down for the night, or if I'll be away from the game for a few hrs. That way when I come back, the babies have turned into toddlers.

How long does it take for the babies to become kids that run around by themselves? In VV it tells you, but I can't figure it out on VF.

For nursing (carried babies) ONLY - 2 hours = 1 year, so 4 hours real time, until they are 2 years old and running around out of Mom's arms.

ok thanks. I just wondered because i had twins the first time I tried to make babies and they are getting a little old to be carried around, it seems to make the mom tire more quickly. and she wont work which is annoying.

Nursing mothers don't work, I agree it is kind of annoying, but at least they will still do other stuff (pick up trash, Pull weeds etc.) Also, they still receive their hourly pay!

Hi Icicle! Even though nursing mothers don't work, they can easily catch up on their career's. Most of my women actually reach level 8 before their hubby's. So don't let it worry you Sweetie! I think mom deserves that two yr break after having the baby. smile

lol. i agree MOM's deserve that break, to read magazines, put on cream, etc, and YES they do catch up on career, if you want, or they can just take care of the house, and work when they want.
it's all up to YOU as the peep with the GLOVE!!

Once a child is 2 years old, it can move on its own. For nursing time *only* 1 year = 2 hours, so 4 hours real time since the baby was first born.

All the peeps age, regardless of if the game is actually open or not (as long as the family is not paused).
