I think you are going off a bit here. In one of my families, my female earns almost twice what the male does, simply because she's got a higher paying job. In the other family, the pay is the same, because the jobs are very similar. As far as the baby goes...umm...would you want to work when you are carrying around a baby for 2 years? Come on, lighten up. It's a GAME!
