The money window in my game says that my family's next interest payment is supposed to be around $35.

When I heard the money sound (it was the interest money, because it couldn't have been anything else: they were watching TV), I noticed that only about $7 had been added to their money, instead of $35.

The $7 payment sound like one of the adults' hourly salary, rather than the interest. Does one of your peeps earn around $168 a day?

I didn't realise they received their wages by the hour instead of in one go.

But I have two of them, and their wages are $54, and $129.

I posted a longer explanation in this thread a while ago: http://www.ldwforums.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/187424/Re_Bug#Post187424

As Arnie said in the post he linked to, they earn money in 3 ways (not including selling collectibles or events, which are unpredictable): their daily earnings, a small amount of pay for each work cycle, and interest on their bank account.

Each time they finish a work cycle they will receive a small amount of money (1% of their daily pay). In addition to this small payment for completing a work cycle, they receive a portion of their current daily income in regular payments every hour of the day.

For example: if someone's current salary is $240 per day, they will automatically earn $10 every hour, plus they will receive a small bonus for each completed work cycle, which is paid at the end of the cycle. You will hear the sound of jingling coins each time someone earns money or interest is paid on the family's bank balance.

Oooh okay. I get it now. I know the first family I had she was doing something else and I heard the coins. And I was like "She doesn't have to be working to get money?" but felt like that was a stupid question so I didnt ask it. But I get it now. Thanks.

From what i've noticed so far, my little guys get money every 30 minutes, each time 1/24 of their daily wage. However, the big problem is i don't think i'm getting any income from the bank. I heard the coins jingle several times now but the money stayed the same frown

ok, i'm not sure but maybe the interest is, in fact, given once a day and not in smaller ammounts every hour. Last night my family had about $3300 in their bank account; i woke up this morning, they had about $3900 or so. And i'm pretty sure there's no chance they managed to earn so much in 8 hours. Could be the bank...

Click on the $ (dollar) sign near your money amount and it will open up a pop-up that will tell you how much money you have, current interest rate, how much money each member earns.

Then t shows projections (how much you balance could be) the next day and it even has a cute graph that shows you how much you will have in 7 days (of course, it does not take into account any expenses or purchases.)

Read through the rest of this thread for an explanation. There is also a thread on how to repair the sink.

Is it possible to overwork the people? Other than when they're showing being tired I mean. Like if I notice them trying to relax, or walking around messing with stuff, I want to pluck em up & force them back to their work stations but I always worry they'll become upset or something.
Is putting in an 8 hour workday too much to ask from you little non-villagers? Jeeeez.

The peeps in Virtual Families are not like the villagers in VV. In VV, it didn't matter how much they worked - they would never get tired or have happiness issues. In Virtual Families, they have much more personality and get tired, depressed, etc. There is a completely different strategy involved here. smile
