I've just downloaded this earlier this evening but am puzzled about a few things...

I feel bad having all the lights on when my family is asleep.. is there a way of turning off the lights?

Also, I miss what they had in VV3 telling us how many minutes before the baby comes of age..although I'm glad the mother can do more than just nurse the baby.. annoyingly though, she refuses to workon her career.

Can the powers that be PLEASE put a clock in the house? And give the TV some volume?

Also, is it possible to change clothes? Few hundred more questions on mind, but will just leave to this for now.

I don't believe the lights can be turned off.

You can buy new clothes in the Store.

Shame about the lights.. that would have been fun to do.

Then the designers could have designed something like kids who are afraid of the dark, so when you switch off lights, they get out of bed and run around in a panic. LOL
(ok.. call me sadistic.. lol)

Thanks much about the clothes tip smile

I also felt bad about the lights, but the later you play, I found the darker the house got. I turned mine off about half past midnight and it was darker but the lights were on lower.
I am pleased the mother can do more than she could in the previous VV, not great about the career but my man is working on that, he WILL improve!!!

My man's being stubborn and doesn't want to work. He's more interested in listening to nature, or reading the newspaper.

It's nice to be able to sell collectibles. I giggle everytime I see the ebay screen on the computer. And occasionally solitaire popping up! Priceless!!

Does anyone know how to stop the lint fire burning? I can't seem to figure that one out.

Day/Night: You have the option to change this mode -- see the options screen.

Clock? Why have a clock when you have one on your computer; they live inside your computer.

Television Volume: Of course, you can't hear it through your monitor glass.

Clothes: Yes, you can buy outfits in the store for your peeps.

I also love the "selling collectibles" that is genius. My man is getting there with working, he just needs praise. Like any man. Haha.

Not sure if you know this, but they don't actually have to go to the computer to sell the item. Once it says they are selling a collectible online, pick them up again and you get the money right away. Saves time.

What I don't like is that the parents, compared to VV, are the only ones that can work. Come on, even in highschool I had a job!

I use the kids to do the collectables, and those two little girls have earned a whole lot of money for their family.
(Earning money in any way is work!)

i also love the game, but.... i have 3 families on the go....family 2 are in their 3rd generation and still only have 2 bugs, family 3 are also in their 3rd generation and still dont have the tape to fix the hose! family 1 have made all the house repairs, but earn money soooo slowly, its going to take about a year (real time) for them to be able to make all the house improvements, theres really nothing to do but feed them and wait for them to earn money.

and in all 3 games, there has been no sign of a cobweb, latte or smelly fish!

i realise vf is in its infancy, and there will probably be a vf2 where a lot of these problems will be upgraded.

great game, love the different personalities, events, interactions and graphics.

well done again guys

About the cobwebs:
Click to reveal..
There's a sink in the bathroom, and if you drop one of your peeps in just the right place, they will start to clean the cobwebs.

Hope I helped!

I don't get why the radio can be heard but not the TV. Mind you, they seem to be tuned to a station that plays the same song over and over again. smile Still, the peeps seem to like it ...

Hi Arnie,

Good to hear from you again!
Yea, I guess the little people haven't entered the electronic era! smile (no pun intended, LDW). I would have liked adding our own music. Never the less, I do enjoy the game.

emri, I can hear the radio, but I had to go into my game's options panel and turn the music all the way down while leaving the other sounds at the midpoint. Once I did that, I could hear the music from the radio too, but only faintly.

To the person who asked whether the trick about having your peep pick up a collectible and then you pick them back up and you still get the money -- yes, even if it's a new collectible it will still make it into the collections box even if you pick them up right after they pick the collectible up. I love that feature -- it's sooo much better than VV where they would "lose" it if you picked them up before they took it where it was supposed to go.

Oh, and you can do that with the garbage too. Have them pick the sack up and take a step away and then just pick them up. The garbage sack will fall and then disappear, but if you click on the trashcan it will say it's empty. That doesn't work with other things though.

Simsane, I noticed that too with the collectibles and the garbage. Did you notice that you can click on the blender, coffee maker, shredder, and the router and it will make the sound of them working? Also, just like you can pull the peeps in the Villager games out of the huts when they run into them, you can put the VF peeps out of the shower and bathroom. LOL! I don't know why...but I like doing that.

I picked up someone who was selling an item on line by mystake and I heard the cash drop and money want up. So yes I was not sure at the time when it happened. Now I know.

Actually, I just discovered that by accident tonight. One of my peeps was in the shower and I was trying to move so I could see where another one was and I accidentally grabber her out, lol! Didn't mean too though, so I stuck her right back in, lol! Haven't ever tried it with the toilet though.

I've only played a family long enough to upgrade the kitchen one time and the shop one time. I restart with each new version and I just added version .05 last night. I've found one bug with that version though, which I mentioned to you in an email and actually, I think I just found another bug with it as well. I decided it was time for my peeps to have babies (all five families) and with each one of them, the dad was off the bed and out of the room before the mom even got on the bed. That didn't happen before I installed version .05. But this time, I didn't actually uninstall and reinstall the game, so maybe that's what's wrong. I simply installed it over .04. When I installed .02 over .01, I first used my Add/Remove programs and totally uninstalled then reinstalled. Same when I put .04 over .02. but I didn't want to bother doing that again and now I've got glitches. frown

What I would like to see is a way of determining just what food is on hand. I get PMs from my people asking for a greater variety of food, and always end up purchasing a whole set of new Organics, because I don't know what they have on hand!
To Clarify, I always have at the least 1500 food units on hand for my people at all times.
Any suggestions?
~~Kathleen

I don't know for sure of course, but I suspect that part of the email from the peeps is composed at random. I know that I've definitely given them all four food groups in the past and shortly afterwards got that message. Last time it happened I ignored them.

You're very welcome, but I don't think I can actually take credit for that. I don't remember where I got that info from, but I'm pretty certain that I learned it from someone else on this site. laugh Yea, it is far less tiresome on them and you can get a lot more done/get a lot more items because of that feature. I really love that feature to this game.

arnie, I think you're right. That's the same conclusion I came to myself and now I pretty much just ignore their emails too. Oh, I'll click on the fridge to make sure there is plenty of food units, but otherwise I now mostly ignore them.
